Frigidaire frfw washing machine drum motor not running. Drain pump and fill valve each run for about 2 seconds then pause and run again for 2 seconds.

hi,

usually theres a service panel on the back for the main drum belt, remove that and see if the belts broke or teeth gone. if the belt is there then maybe the main board replaced. might be more cost effective to buy another machine than a new board, you can go to a USED appliance stored for parts verses buy new ( 1/2 price)

I have a hoover vision tech washing machine and the belt keeps slipping off.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but 99% of "Belt coming off" problems are a result of the main bearings goingin the drum. I'll take a guess that the spin has become substantially noisier recently (As the bearings fail). When this happens the drum, and therefore the pulley on the back of the drum shaft, starts to rotate off true and as a result, the belt gets out of line and falls off. Price to do bearings is usually pretty much an uneconomical repair at about £140

My dryer just started making a loud sound and the drum isnt turning

Could be the drive belt has come off or is broken or if it is gear driven, then it's possibly the gearbox has failed. New belt a piece of cake, new gearbox?, time to price it against a new dryer.

Drum not turning. There is heat. Opened machine found broken belt. Drum will not turn by hand. What would it cost to fix?

in the package of the new belt, the belt for the dryer the instructions are right on or in the package, if not normally you take the front and possibly the top of the dryer 1st.... off slide the belt over the drum, and the insert it through the tensioner and then unto the motor. you have to make sure the belt has tension on it this will show it will be able to move the drum.... you can download maintenance manual form here

http://www.slideshare.net/avermapub/miele-gas-dryer-t9820-service-manual
price depends where you purchase it.. $ 20 to $ 45

Belt is tight but ddrum will not turn

The question is drum from a dryer...
Keep in mind, there is a motor at the bottom, is the motor turning, is the belt slipping, is the belt proproly install.

Other issues if belt is slipping is your back bushing or seaded up, jamped up, this is a common problem, they be called rollers or bearing, mostly rollers. If u look at the rollers, you will see it keeps the drum stabelize, the dirt build up with jam the rollers not to turn or jam the drum from rotation .

don't just clean the bushing on the rollers, replace them the price or not high enough to start cleaning them, they will screel afterward...

keep in mind prices of a dryer is average $600. , it's funny that people would get and spend $200 to get it fixed while a TV over $1000 they won't spent $200. and just tost it out.... I would just junk it if it's over 6 years old.... and come in the new one.

Dryer squeeks

sqeak is caused by a dried up roller bearing that keeps the belt tight that turns the drum around
Get the belt and bearing which will come installed on a new belt tensioner puller at Sears at a good price
Replacingf the belt at the same time is highly recomended

Maytag Dryer model#MDE6000AYW makes a high pitched squealing noise. Any suggestions?

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication, or maybe your drum belt has slipped off of the idler arm pulley.
If you have a front loading machine, Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer. Be REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer. Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt. Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm pulley and motor. Now is a good time to check the belt to see if it has slipped off of the idler arm pulley and also to check the belt condition for wear. Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt. Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots or wear on them replace them. If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem. I will include these two websites for parts and further help: http://www.partselect.com/ http://www.appliancepartspros.com/index.aspx Both also have chat assistance 24/7. I will also include this website...it has the breakdown of the drum and rollers plus parts and prices:http://www.partselect.com/ModelFrames.aspx?ModelID=123926&ModelNum=MDE6000AYW&mfgModelNum=&ManufactureID=1&Selected=51311&Position=6&mfg=Maytag&Type=&Mark=6

Squeaking

Hello sether74, You have a weak belt in your dryer. Contact the local appliance parts/repair stores for price & stock. To repace the belt unplug the AC power, if gas close the valve. Pry the top up & lay it on the front, make note of belts route on paper. Diassemble housing enough to replace belt. Vacuum the internal housing including the wings in side the drum. Check the drum rotation by hand before re assembling. Have fun.
