Electric coffee maker no longer boils the water

Hi

My coffee maker does not start to boil the water when I connect it to the electric charging stand and pressed the 'boil' button. The orange light on the machine is very faint. I am pretty sure that the problem is not with the charging stand, because I connected my friend's coffee maker to it and it started to boil the water. I spoke to a retailer of these machines and he told me that Bialetti has had quite a few problems with this model. I would like to know whether I can repair it by replacing a part of the coffee machine, or should I just throw it out.

I hope you can offer some advice
Thanks Steve

    Hi,

I have the same problem with an electric Moka Easy (3 cups). No matter how I switch it on, manually or programmed, it will simply beep without making any coffee. Coul dbe because it can't start boiling the water. One needs a lot of patience, pressing buttons, before any coffee comes out.

    Does anyone have a solution.

    Thank you

I have the same problem as katotas, faint light and not heating up at all. When I press 'on' manually, there is a continuous 'error' beep, but there's nothing obvisouly wrong. My 6 cup is only a few weeks old, so they must be a faulty design!!

Same problem. I have had my Moka-Easy for two years though.

Same problem. I'm worried I shorted it, by cleaning it right before using it...but I don't know how to fix it. I asked Bialetti, but they said they don't carry bases for this type of model any more....

As you explain i understood that heating element is in defect. Even if you don't find replacement in part DO NOT THROW IT. only remove electrical parts and you use it in direct heat , with gas or fire. buon apetit.

Can you put a Greek coffee maker on a glass top new coker

There are essentially two types of Coffee Maker, one where the water is heated by an immersion element (where the water is heated by electricity), and a Boiling Water Coffee maker, where you heat the pot on a stove top element either by gas or electric heat.

(If you hve one of the electric immersion ones, don't do what a famous comedy showed and place the coffee pot on the HOT SURFACE of the cooker.

While the first pot of coffee might get warm, the idea is to heat the water from the inside, then have the coffee brewed by the machine after.

Is there a MODEL or NAME on the BOTTOM of the maker?

Google or search for these things first and get back to this board if that does not help.

If I understand your question (sort of) , are you asking if a Metal pot can be placed on the top of an INDUCTION type cooktop, where the special rings Induce a current of electricity into the bottom of the fry-pan or Stock-type pot to boil water or fry items in oils.

I do not know if there is any special method used in Greece to make coffee. Please provide details, if you were not having a 'glass' cooktop.

After some research, a 'Greek' coffee maker or 'Bricki', is a stainless steel or copper pot used to boil the water and grinds together without any extra filtering.

So, the Original Poster needs to determine what the pot is made from (The type of metal), and the other part is what type of cooker element is underneath the 'glass' part of the stove.

The Test is if you turn on the element, and watch it, does it glow red underneath or not?

If it glows red, then the heating elements are embedded into the glass and the stove functions similar to a regular electric range.

If the 'glass' portion is black and does not glow red without a pot on the top of it, then it is an INDUCTION element, and the Inductor NEEDS a metal pot on top to induce a magnetic field to make the bottom of the pot warm up.

Based on the Size of the Pots shown in pictures, it may be too small to function in your particular cooker. A model of the cooker would help. The label is usually on the door frame to the oven or a logo or name near the contol knobs.

Keurig problems

Hi Vera
in my experience there are two types of coffee machines of this kind.
One boils the water in the spout that transfers the water from the water holder to the coffeepot
The other type boils the all the water in the tank before it run through the coffee. The latter type usually makes hotter coffee.

How hot should fresh perked coffee be from any coffee maker?

some people say that coffee can burn when you pour boiling water on the beans and recommend that you should add the milk first... I just let the kettle cool down until the boiling stop as well. as for espresso makers, water will boil and the gas (liquid to gas at boiling temperature) is pushed through the beans, so its rather hot and the beans doesn't burn.coffee should be as hot as possible!

Krups FME2 will not flow water.

Hi,
Does it sound like it is boiling water at all?

If it is boiling, but not giving hot water, then the one-way valve is stuck.
If it is not getting hot (on the soleplate base) then usually the element has blown.

These machines use the steam generated by boiling as a means to move the water up - like a geyser, and need the heat to move the water.

Replacement elements are available, and the valves usually just require cleaning.

Use of warm water

Warm water is said to contain more impurities than cold water, like lead. Warm water takes more lead from your home plumbing, than cold water.

So it's not advised to use warm water for boiling...

Vintage Revere Ware Copper Clad 8 Cup Drip Coffee Pot

Barbara,
Coffee grounds go in the top. (i use a filter paper also.) Install baffle with stem up. Assemble top to empty bottom section. pour boiling water into top. I use 4 cups water, 2 scoops chickory coffee. Let water trickle down into bottom. I put mine back through 3 times, black as tar. That is the advantage of this machine. I will never use another.........
