I have a Balboa Controller, 500Z. I had to replace the circuit board because it burnt out from a faulty Heater. GFI did not trip. Anyway, I can't figure out which pump, goes on which terminal. I have a 2 speed 230 volt pump which feeds directly to the heater. And asingle speed pump. I get a error that says SA. Which is says is a flow problem. My options for hooking up the pumps on the card are. Terminal J23 and J47 and Blower. The way it was hooked up originally was, @ spped pump on J23, and single speed pump on Blower? And nothing on CIRC. Pump J47. This is what has me confused. Could the fact that I have the 1 speed pump on the Blower terminal and not the CIRC Pump Terminal cause the SA code to appear? Isn't the Low speed on the 2 speed pump the circ pump? 1 confused person here. Just spent $165 to have the card checked out and no problem there!!!HELP!!!!

Understand that this information isbeing provided as-is and without warranty or guarantee. As with allelectrical components and devices, all work should be performed by a licensedspa or pool technician. Serious injury or death can occur if a component isimproperly repaired or installed. This islikely an issue with the GFCI breaker not being able to handle the load or aproblem with the high speed of the pump.

You can find answers to common spa orbath problems online at http://www.balboadirect.com/support.aspx Hope that helps!

Our balboa spa just stopped running out of the blue while we were using it...it tripped the gfi. GFI is good any suggestions?

GFI tripping is caused by an excess of electrical current between the device and the ground connection. The heater and pump should be on separate GFI circuits. Check to see which device is causing the fault and have it repaired or replaced.

No temperature display cant set temperature

Located behind the access panel there is a grey box that is the spa pack. Open that up with the 2 screws on the top of the pack. There is a small glass fuse on the circuit board. One of those fuses is most likely blown. If that is not the culprit you need a new topside control. More than likely it's the fuse.

Frigidaire GLRS264ZA refrigerator keeps blowing GFI circuit

The fan and defrost heater are run off the same relay on the board. When on defrost, the fan stops. when the fan starts, the defrost heater is switched off, Sounds like the neutral to the board may be shorting. If you have the ability, try powering the evaporator fan from the compressor relay, disconnecting from the board entirely. To see if this will work, just take a temporary wire to the fan when disconnected and see if it trips while running.

Hello - sounds like you will need to replace the relay itself if possible, if not you most likely need to replace the circuit board considering its age.You can check by diconnecting the power to the board.
If you are not an electrition and you dont work with electrical STOP NOW!! and call electrition.
Following steps would be 1. Turn off breaker. 2.Disconnect wiring to the board. 3.Wire nutt off electrical to the board.
4. Turn breaker back on. If breaker does not trip , board will need repaired or replaced.

Colman Spa trips GFI what is most common problem? GFI test good. Pump disconnected still trips, is heater most likely? Can you replace only heater? thanks

this should be simple ...
1.shut off the power
2.disconnect wires to heating element
3. turn power back on and see if it works if so replace heating element 45-95 dollars

if it still trips unplug all the cables from the pumps blower ozonators and see if it runs now,,,, if so plug each cable back (one at a time) until it trips again.if it trips that the problem pump etc.

99 percent of the the time its not the gfi its a device that is wet or shorted out ..Try everything else before replacing the gfi

Our hot tub keeps tripping the gfi breaker, but if we don't put it on a gfi then it works fine. How do you fix this

The GFI is sensing a fault, and tripping to protect you. If there is another GFI in the circuit somewhere then you could use that normal receptacle. I mean if there is a GFI in the main panel.
