SOURCE: Changing MAIN voicemail announcement

I am not a phone installer and we have another vendors' phone system here at our work.

It can be *extremely* difficult setting up these phone systems, even with a manual.

Here is one such link that might help:

http://www.alphatelecom.ca/meridian_norstar_manuals.htm

Here is another forum that has lots of friendly folks that might be able to help

http://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?/ubb/forum/f/8.html

You will get an answer much sooner on there than here probably.

SOURCE: change main number voicemail

There is no default way to do this. The technician that set the system up will need to tell you the code to get in aand modify that wav file. There is no way to do so by default, it has to be set up, and can be anytihng.

Look at your config, for a short code that goes to a "vociemail collect" with the name recordings.....that is the code you use to modify.

SOURCE: changing main voicemail message

This may be specific for my system, but hopefully it helps:

Connect to your voicemail (for us, we can either hit the voicemail button or dial 1650)

Once in, press #6, it will ask for a mailbox number, dial *9998, it will ask for a password (the default is 1234#)

Press 5 to modify messages.

Press 3 to record custom service menus.

It will ask you to pick which menu (1-100). Our day menu is 1, and night is 2. I'm guessing yours will be the same.

From this point, it becomes the same as recording a standard voicemail greeting. It will play the current greeting and you can press 1 to re-record it. Do so, and then press #. Press 2 to accept and you're done!

Press the voicemail button and enter whatever extension number you are trying to change. Kisten before you record, to make sure you are in the right place.

What my voicemail 4 digit passcodefor 2402620085

Your voicemail password is a 4 digit number that you enter when you want to listen to your voicemail messages from any other phone other than your mobile phone - this is called remote access. This voicemail password gives you the protection to know that only you can listen to your voicemails.
It is vital that your password is set to a random 4 digit password. To change your password, all you need to do is:
  1. Dial 173 from your mobile
  2. You will then be asked to pick a 4 digit number, and then press the # button
  3. If you are happy press press 2
Your password is all set up and you will be prompted to enter it whenever you want to listen to your voicemails through remote access. You will only need to use this password when accessing your voicemails from another phone. You will not need to use this password when accessing your voicemail from your own mobile phone - you simply dial 171 as normal
You can reset your voicemail pass code by dialing 611 or 1 800 331 0500
From the main menu, press3 (To get help with voicemail)
Press 2 to reset your voicemail pass word
Enter Billing Zip code
Customer will receive a text message to their wireless phone with their new voicemail password.
OR
You can log into your "My Account" from the www.cingular.com
From the My Phone page, click Reset Voice Mail Password.
Choose a wireless number from the dropdown menu and select Submit.
A text message is sent to the wireless phone with the new password.

I need help in changing my voice mail message on a Motorola VGA 4XZOOM phone.....please help

Hey Tony,
Changing the voicemail message is as easy as calling your voicemail, selecting SETTINGS from the main menu and re-recording the message.
The type of phone (equipment) does not matter .
If you have problems and are unable to do it this way , then dial 611 from your phone and talk to a service tech regarding voicemail (option 5 I think...?).

How do i change my voicemail message?

Call your voicemail. Put in your password. Then wait until it says "main menu" or something similar. If it gives an option to record a new voicemail greeting choose that option. If not, you may want to check with your provider.

If your voicemail is a Toshiba in-skin and your main greeting is under 991 mailbox then the last message you change before getting out of programming will be the active message so listen carefully to the prompts and make sure that your new message is the active one when leaving programming. Let me know if this helps. ....Mitelmike

Nokia 5185

In order to change your voicemail message you need to call into your voicemail system. Voicemail is not actually in the phone but a service where your calls are forwarded to. Most voicemail systems will play the main menu if you press the * key. One of them should be about a greeting. Check with your carrier for specifics.
