Please could you help???? i borrowed my nieces R4 card to play ds games an i mistakenly deleted the software from the card and now i carnt play saying no menu found.
Check out this site here, it's got a great tutorial for loading the latest firmware on it. It's even got links so you don't have to go hunting for it yourself. http://www.dscardworld.com down on their support page.
Go to the manufacturers web site and download the latest OS files to put them in your memory card root. That would fix the problemand you should have updated files. In the case of the games, music and other files in the card before the deletion you must get them again and put one by one in the memory. By the way if that was a complete deletion any game saved file is lost.

Blow in the NDSL card and the slot 1 (Avoid blowing with spittle). If you use R4/Acekard/etc.:Look for dust/dirt in micro sd card. Clean it. Not working? Probably the problem is slot 1 connector. Need to change it.
Mine works fine!!
Download English 1.18 from the R4 website.
Unzip
You should have 4 files on your card
_system_
moonshell
_DS_MENU_DAT
_DS_MSH_NDS
you then add the .nds game files from wherever you get them from
Make sure the card is formatted first, ie there are no other files on it. try FAT. rather than FAT 32. I can't remember which but I've had no problems with either the card or the software, best thing since sliced bread, and it only cost me a tenner.
The correct software for your R4 card depends on which version of the R4 it actually is. This page should help you figure out which version of the software you need and give you download links for everything:
If you are looking for a reliable place to buy DS and DSi cards from that will stock originals, I'd recommend using http://www.NDS-Gear.com (I've used them myself). They test every card before sending which means you won't receive dud cards, and more importantly they have support before AND after your purchase by people who reply very quickly and in perfect English. Some of these dodgy websites take 4-6 weeks to deliver and never answer e-mails, so I'm glad these guys are different. Oh, and they guarantee to dispatch by the next working day, which always helps with speed and all. And they're recommended by a lot of the DS card help sites, too.
