I can't receive Fax on this printer a960 I can send but not receive

This is a used printer and I don't have the manuel for it so I need the manuel I can send fax but I can't receive faxes it sayes the line is either not connected or it sayes line busy the phone people put in a special line for it but I can't receive faxes can you help even the number the other people had it shows that number not mine Please help.

SOURCE: can't send a fax

Do you have a DSL connection to the Internet? If you do and you don't have the line filter on the cord going to the 6210, it won't be able to dial out.

Do you have a DIGITAL phone line? Fax machines only work on ANALOG phone lines.

I Cannot Receive a Fax - the pages are blank

A second line isn't needed, this wouldn't cause blank pages to be printed. This could cause fax's not to be received if the line is in use. There could be 2 causes of blank fax's. Either the obvious which is the person sending the fax is faxing the document the wrong way up. Or the fax board on your copier has a malfunction. Because of the copier's age, this seems likely, although i hope not. hope this helps.

Generally you don't need ink to fax. Like sending a email that the receiver needs to print. However some printers will lock up and nag about cartridge empty before they let you move a inch

Brother mfc-7840w won't receive fax

The first thing that I would try multiple people to ask them to fax you.Sometimes the 2 machines don't "sync".This is a toll free fax test number that I always use to check my machines..1-888-473-2963.Just write the words "FAX TEST" in large letters on a blank sheet of paper..fax it to that number...leave the line open...you should get a fax back in about a minute.If you get a fax back...your machine is fine...let me know if this was helpful....thanks.

How do i get the receiving and sending fax report only once a week. Keep getting everyday and don't need it that often

As far as I recall with that model is that you either get it everyday, not at all or you print it when you need it.

How to receive fax

HI

This is very simple to received, plug on the you telephone cable "Line port" and plug on the power cable, now your all in one printer is ready, open the all in printer menu and set you fax in auto answer mode, now call to your friends and tell you fax no. when your friends sending the fax you get the ring in you all in one printer Don't do anything automatic you fax is answer and you get the fax.

How to receive fax documents

You cannot receive fax using this printer, because this printer doesn't support fax sending/receiving. Only fax supported printers can receive fax documents. You will know if a printer is fax support if you see a Fax button there or if you can see a numpad buttons where you can dial numbers.

Lexmark Productivity Suite --the faxes don't go through -- error message

Are you able to send faxes when using the printer operator panel - not through Lexmark Productivity Suite application on your computer? Are you able to receive faxes without any problems? Make sure the fax line where the printer is connected is working properly. It could be a signal quality in the connection.
You can also try to decrease the transmission speed when sending faxes. On your printer operator panel:

Press the Fax button, then press Options 15 times to get to ADVANCED FAX.
Press Select.
Press Options ten times until MAX SEND SPEED appears on the LCD display.
Change it to 9600 BPS using the - (left arrow) button.
Press Select.

Try to send your fax again.

Problems sending a fax!

go to menu option and choose the option fax and set the parameter like auto receive or manual set the ring auto answer mode after certain ring. If it is in auto receiving mode it will receive the fax after the ring which you set.
make sure the phone wire which you insert in fax machine getting proper dial tone and getting out going calling facility.

Fax name

Hi c_mcnair, when you install the software for you're A960 printer it also installed the Dell All-In-One Center. Within in the dell center you can change you're fax settings. To open the dell center do this, Click Start → All Programs → Dell Printers → Dell AIO Printer A960 → Dell All-In-One Center. Once opened click fax setup utility. Fax starting on page 40 in manual. Once in the fax setup utility you'll be able to change any & all fax settings. I do not have the software installed. If I did I could be more specific, step by step.
(You can't find the back space button). If this refers to you're keyboard it's just above the enter key. It's the key with the arrow pointing to the left on it. ( <------ ).
