For the Windows Vista operating system, (All versions);

Go into Safe Mode. Let the computer run in Safe Mode for a few minutes. 5 to 10.
Then restart the computer.

1) Using the F8 method;
A) Turn the computer on. AS SOON AS you press the Power On button, start tapping on the F8 key. Tap in 2 second intervals. (1001,..1002)

If you hear a beep as you are tapping on the F8 key, disregard it.
It is a Stuck Key error code.
The computer 'thinks' you have a stuck key on the Keyboard.

The reason you are tapping right away, is the window you need will pass by VERY quickly. Using this method there is no chance of missing this window, and the small window of opportunity.

If you have never been in Safe Mode;
The computer is in a Very basic mode. The icons on your desktop screen will reflect this. All graphics shown will reflect it. Safe Mode is a program built in that will automatically rectify problems, and return your computer to the state it should be in.

I would appreciate hearing back from you in this matter. Please post in a Comment.

Apologizes for the lateness in providing a solution to your problem.
I see you connected to me, and due to this recent event, I looked at your problem/s.

Laptop wont boot up, black screen, has power

You didn't post the Make, Model of Laptop or the OS you are using. I'll use a Win 7 solution. Boot the Laptop, open the Control Panel, select Power Options, set to High Performance, select Change Plan Settings, set SLEEP to Never, select Change Advanced Power settings, go through the settings , set SLEEP and Hibernate to Never, Power buttons and Lid to shut down. Always shut down and unplug your laptop when not in use to prevent damage from power surges and possible Fire hazard IF the battery malfunctions. A reboot every day will reset the computer.

Unable to obtain valid IP config

Unplug power to ISP modem, till you see it reboot. Test with a cable to establish you can connect directly with ISP modem. If OK, reconnect with wireless modem. You will have to switch between wireless and regular network adapter on laptop for this test.

Use these instructions to test and see IP's.Go to Start > Search > Type cmd and hit enter key.
In Command Shell:

Type ipconfig /all These are your IP settings.
Type ipconfig /release To clear IP settings.
Type ipconfig /renew For new IP settings.

You will need to check NIC drivers in Device Manager if problem persists.

What Brand and model# is it? And how old is it?
*Sometimes if you unplug them & let it rest overnight, it may 're-set' itself.....It's actually better to unplug them after each use. (Mine just did this silliness too) Please clarify your deets.

I own a Yamaha YPT-220 portable keyboard. The "c", "b" and "f" keys (all octaves) just stopped producing a sound. Anyone else have this problem?\r\n The dealer's service...

That's the thing with today's electronic and why warranty length is so important. Where did you buy your keyboard? It's strange that they won't fix it if it's still under warranty. My Casio CTK-2100 came with 1 year free service and they fix one key that stopped function in few days. I'm pretty sure Yamaha has the same warranty length. You sometimes have to be very persistent with them though...

After shutting down my HP LAPTOP, it won't restart. If you push the "on" button, there's no response. I noticed that about 3 days before this happened, the system cannot...

- try to remove the battery of the laptop and unplug the power cord
- hold the power button for 20 seconds to drain the remaining power
- turn on the system

Adapter has bricked. Initially it just wouldn't light up, showing a break in the power to the laptop, after a few days of rest it seemed to work as normal. Light went dark again after a day of use....

Chances are it's just a failing electrolytic capacitor in the power unit.
Normally I would say to simply purchase another unit online from EVER Corp. online, but if you have the electronics knowledge, you can probably fix it yourself for a few pennies.
look for capacitors that are bulging at the top or bulging/leaking electrolyte at the bottom.
Replace the capacitors with ones of equal uF rating and equal or higher voltage rating.

Opening the power unit itself of course is an adventure as they are sonically welded, and you'll have to tape or glue it back together if you do manage to get it apart.

You may simply want to look locally for ANY power adapter that is the SAME voltage, and EQUAL OR GREATER current. (it helps if the connector is the same too, but you can always put the old connector on the new power supply)

In other words, don't replace a 16V adapter with a 19V adapter, but you CAN replace an adapter rated at 2.0A with one rated at 3.5A as long as the voltages match.

My hp 4500 fax is stuck on "busy" to "redial in 0". What do i do? [email protected]

Hard reset the printer:
1) unplug the power cord 2) hold buttons '#' and '6' as you plug it back on 3) while still holding, power on the printer 4) after a few seconds, it will show semi NVM reset or something like that, and start the factory default setup (pick language, align cartridges, etc.)
