Sony BRAVIA KDL-52XBR4 LCD TV Logo
Anonymous Posted on Nov 06, 2011

My Sony KDL-52xbr4 was working fine until I did a re-scan of the digital channels. After the re-scan the TV finds no digital channels. All other TVs hooked to the same antenna work fine. The sony scans up to 8 digital channels then goes black and aborts the channel scan. I end up with two spanish speaking analog channels only. I have ended up using a set top NTSC box to get all of the channels.

I did check all connections and the antenna, it worked fine before the re-scan. A friend at work has the same set and he also did a re-scan and had the same problem. He found that if he entered the actual digital channel numbers rather than the local channel numbers the TV would pick up the channels. Mine also worked the same way so now we are back to high def but have to have a translator paper to map the local channel numbers to the physical channel numbers.

Hi check to make sure the antenna is connected correctly. try tunning the channels manually and if they come up you can save them one at a time. Also try moving the antenna to a different location. make sure the TV is set to scan on the same input that you are connecting the antenna. If all that fails ou might have a defective tuner board.

Sony bravia no digital channels

If you've tried different antennas did you attempt to re-tune/re-scan for additional channels after switching? For digital channels to be detected they must be scanned for, so consult your manual on how to perform an automatic scan of the digital channels available in your area.

BRAVIA KDL-52XBR4 PARTIAL IMAGE DELAY

Three suggestions:

1. Try to hook cable direct without box to see if same problem---ie the box might cause this problem.

2. Check to see if it does it with DVD or when you change active inputs.
3. If number one contact cable provider as box may be your problem.

Hi, I live in a flat in London with a shared rooftop aerial (no idea of spec). I have a Sony KDL-46X2000. The built-in freeview tuner doesn't seem to recieve any HD channels. Is the built-in tuner the...

Make sure you have a good connection from antenna to TV. Check antenna and cable and cable connection to TV. Select DIGITAL button on TV remote when wanting HD channels. Remember HD channels are always digital. Also, any given TV station may not be broadcasting in HD at a given time. They can broadcast in digital but in standard definition sometimes. Your TV has a built-in DVB-T tuner. Try executing a channel scan to pick up all available channels. On-screen menus go to Digital Setup, then Digital Tuning, you can auto-tune or manual tune channels. The TV should take a few min. to scan thru available channels and store the channels its finds. Check with anyone in your area to see if they get HD channels (it is possible to be outside of the range of some TV stations) Your TV is a 2006 model and should still be compatible with local digital TV broadcasts but keep in mind digital signals could change in the near future (DVB-T2) and you may need a tuner/converter box to make the TV compatible.

How do you watch free cable channels on a sony

If you are connecting the cable directly to the TV with no cable box, you'll select Home on the remote control. This will put the menu on screen. Scroll down until you find the Channel Settings option. Set the Cable category to On, Select Auto Program to automatically scan for all analog and digital channels. You can then customize which channels you want to remove when scanning channels.

Hi,

Power the TV off and uplug from the mains, now remove the aerial, now press the standby button the TV, now plug the mains back in and switch to a DTV channel, wait 5 secs and then put the aerial back in whilst still on that channel, now rescan.

If that didn't work, reset the TV to factory defaults and rescan again.

Thanks
