When i turn my copier on it says finisher needs service

The error code F1-15 means that the stapler is not in home postion. It can also, be that the exit tray is not in "HP" aswell. I would turn the copier off and turn it back on and not use the stapler funcation. To repair the problem, there are a bunch of up dates to resolve this problem. I would change the out put tray from the finisher to the left out put tray... Good Luck

IF you have an E1 finisher on it, Turn OFF copier the E580 error is most likely related to the stack tray lift motor. Try disconnecting the finisher. That means pulling it away from the copier and unplugging the cable from the back of the copier. Turn the copier back on. This won't solve your problem, but you should be able to use the copier until a tech can have a look at it.

Possible Causes

• Shift motor defective

This is a problem with the finisher shift motor normally.

Shut the machine off, unplug the finisher from the copier, then plug it back in. Make sure the finisher is securely attached to the machine, then turn the machine back on. If that doesn't work, remove the finisher completely and use the machine without. Call a service technician to diagnose your finisher problem.

The F1-00 deals with the sortor / finisher. It means there is a communication problem with the finisher and copier. What you can try is to turn the copier off & unplug the finisher from the copier and turn it back "ON" and is the code gone??? If so turn the copier OFF and plug the sotor back in and turn it back ON. If it works you are all set. You may also have a problem with the stapler unit? Will the code only show up with that funcation? If so, don't use the stapler. If the problem is still showing up leave the sortor unpluged. If that will not work for you, you may need a repair rep to vist.. Good Luck

sounds like the DC controller and or the Finisher controller have gone bad. Unfortunatly there is no easy fix for this problem. you will need to get someone out to have them checked but if you leave the finisher off of the copier it should still work so at least you can make the copies.

this is a finisher error code.
turn off power then grasp the lower tray of finisher on both sides and shift up as far as it will go. turn power back on and see if that works. worse case disconnect the finisher from top rear of machine-at least the copier should still work and copies will go into middle.

F1-70 is communication trouble between the machine and the sorter finisher. Check the cables connecting the copier and the finisher and power off and on machine. Should clear the code. If problem persists, may need a new board.

I would also check the ground between the copier and finisher.

77-2 is a finisher prob..Make sure nothing is under the finisher like a small trash can preventing the finisher from moving up/down.Turn off then on,if prob. still there remove finisher by pressing a pen/pencil in small hole inside finisher door and pull fin. towards you. This will let you use copier until service rep. gets there.
