Saeco odea giro just grinds and then dumps coffee before brewing. I have cleaned brew group and adjusted the grind but it continues to just dump grinds about 60% of the time.

Try descaling the machine. If there is no water getting to the brew unit then it might be blocked, if you checked the brew unit then the blockage might be at the boiler or one of the lines.

SOURCE: Saeco talea touch - grinds & brews coffee into grounds drawer??

Try this, adjust the grind to a coarser setting atleast 2 numbers, then remove brew unit and look behind at white plastic valve, there is a small chamber under valve make sure chamber is clean and that the small discharge from chamber to drain tray is also clear. Then remove shower screen from brew unit and clean if necessary, also check the tube from the shower. Reinsert and test.

From your description we understand that your machines vital parts like water pump, grinder, group and gears, boiler, electronic board all are working fine since there is a final result the coffee.

The only problem you face is that due to long time use some coffee liquid have dry out layer by layer and have goggle the Teflon pipe of the plastic unions so the coffee cannot be deliver through to the coffee tap and as a result is ending in the coffee drugs drawer.

So you need to disassemble you machine and remove the Teflon pipe which is after the coffee croup and by using a thing metal wire like a paper clip or similar you can check the pipe and the plastic unions to find out where they are goggled from dry coffee. You can immerse them in boiling water from some minute so the dry coffee to dissolve and be removed completely. By this chance you can remove also the coffee group filters and also clean them with hot water.

We have here below the link with exploded parts view of your model which will help you find the parts and understand how your machine is constructed.

Why are the used grinding pads on my saeco odeo giro very loose and watery

I can personally confirm this fix from another similar question works: "I throughly cleaned and lubricated the brew group as directed by the manual. Apparently if the brew group doesn't move smoothly enough, it won't grind the correct amount of beans. Try lubricating and then brewing 2-3 cups to have the machine recalibrate the grind amount." My manual didn't have very good info about lubricating the brew group, so I referred to some Youtube videos demonstrating the methods. A sourced a 3rd party food safe lubricant from Amazon which I applied with Q-tips, but in retrospect they also sell Saeco "maintenance kits" which would have been cheaper & easier to apply, plus it includes a new O-ring.

Hi...Keep on grinding until the Auto Dosing System readjust the amount of grind to be in the optimum. Normally it takes 3 to 4 grinds. Whenever we change the type of beans, this condition happens, it is not a problem.

Hello,
Look at the brewing group where the top strainer is. The small holes are blocked with coffee. The water can not pass through them.
You will need to unfold the two screws at the top and then remove the strainer, grow and clean it and clean it if the holes are blocked.

you are supposed to go through the "before first use" instructions....which include filling the resevoir with water and brewing only water until its all gone. then start using the machine normally...remembering that the machine takes a few brew cycles to adjust properly to the coffee being used (this assuming this is the giro plus model which has the feature-"aroma something or other...)

also, descaling would help and removing the brew group and rinsing it out...

Hi, I have a saeco odea giro plus that has just started to leak nearly all of the brewed coffee into the dreg drawer! Any ideas? thanks in advance...

I had a crack in the tube that connected to the brew group that resulted in a similar dumping of coffee in the dregs (and below the dreg drawer and onto the counter) in my Saeco Odea Giro. Replacing the "Saeco Odea Giro Coffee Dispensing Tube, part number 11003468, fixed my problem. You can replace this yourself if you are very handy. These photos are very helpful (The Go seems pretty similar to the Giro.) http://odeago.zxq.net/Odea_Go_Repair/Welcome.html

Saeco odea giro is not grinding enough coffee.. the pad is like half or less than that.. it seems like a pcv problem .. HOw can I reset or reprogram to grind more coffee?

Hi,..These saeco models have a auto adjusting grinder. If the brewunit is heavy or in other words overloading, the machine will reduce the grinding time lesser to produce less ground coffee. If it senses the brewunit is smooth and light in loading (compressing the grounds), it will increase the grinding until it reaches the optimum dose. So it is important to clean and lubricate the brew unit at all times. Hope it will solve the problem. Good luck.
