BROKEN actuator switch in bulb replacement door. I have a KDS50A2000 DLP tv. When I replaced the bulb, the tiny actuator switch fell off and I don't know how to put it back on. Am I able to put it back on or if there are instructions to bypass this safety feature, please let me know.

I forgot to post that I bypassed the safety switch. The only reason it is there is so that you make sure you put the covers on properly before you use the TV.
    thanks Fixya!

It is really there so the set cannot be operated with the door open--Sony has lots of problems with the door actually melting and until recently were fixing it for free.

SOURCE: Bulb Door Safety Switch Broken

You could defeat the switch but it is not a good idea--up to you--it is a safety switch so the set cannot be operated with the door open. The switch is location number S3250 and they only sell it as part of the T board---I know how small that board is(part #A-1166-584a) but it wholesales for 65.32 and has a suggested list price of 82.12! A lot of money for a very small item.

I do this here for free so if this has helped you give me a vote here----if you have questions or need help let me know.

Bare both wires to the switch slightly and twist them together.

Won't turn on! No green light to show that it has turned on.

look for a tiny hole in the button panel. It may or not be marked reset. Straighten out a paper clip and push it in the hole slowly until you feel it stop. Gently push it to reset the TV. If that doesn't work, then look at the lamp cover door to see if it is closed all the way. The switch may be bad too.

Tv will not turn on

There is a safety switch that is actuated when you install the lamp cover. It sounds like the switch has fallen apart and needs to be replaced. The unit will not turn on until the switch is replaced. You can call 1-800-samsung to find the nearest authorized service center.

Replacing the bulb in my samsung HLR5667WX DLP TV. I took off the small face plate on the back, but it looks like that bulb is locked in there 20 different ways and the space is small.

After removing the door lift the tab on the bottom of the plastic tunnel and pull it out. There is a philips screw on the left of the back lamp housing. Loosen it. There is a wire handle folded to the side . Pull it open and pull the lamp out. When you put the door back on be sure the tab on the door pushes the door switch downward or tv will keep shutting off when it warems up.

Viviteck 56''in.HDTV DLP TV. replaced with a new lamp bulb since I replaced this the tv wont come on only the sound for about 5 seconds then tv is silent again. any tips, Please.

The first thing to check on any TV that has a replaceable lamp is to make sure the lamp door is back on and seated correctly. You also need to make sure that the lamp is seated all the way in. The lamp door and in most cases the lamps have saftey switches they have to activate for the TV to work normal.

My 56 inch Samsung DLP keeps shutting off. I have

Once before I had this same problem and FixYa gave me the solution. When you replace the lamp door, there is a switch inside so be sure the door is put in at an angle so to hold the switch up. It solved my problem after numerous repairmen missed it.

Samsung 50" DLP - Lamp Light Blinking after bulb replacement

Listen closely. The tv should make a high pitch whine as it turns on. If it does wait and see if it tries this a few times. If yes then check the bulb, I have seen cases where the lamp shoves the power connector back into the set. If the tv starts with a grown or heavy vibration noise, then your color wheel may have broken and needs replaced.

Will not start up. It has power to it.

Check the following to address this issue.

Door switch / Door switch actuator lever
The dryer will not start with a broken door switch. Replace the door switch if found defective.

Most dryers have a door switch actuator lever - when you close a dryer door, it presses against the lever, which actuates the door switch. If the lever is broken, the switch would not activate and the dryer would not start. Replace the lever, if broken.

Note: Door switch actuator lever usually comes with the door switch assembly and it is recommended to get the whole assembly since there is almost no price difference between the door switch assembly and just the lever. Check your model for more details.

Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

If all the above inspection check out ok and, the door switch or actuator is functional, replace the timer or control board.
