There are many things that might cause your PC to run slowly or restart at time and then. It could be a fragmented disk; fragmented registry; a virus, Trojan, or spy ware; high CPU and/or utilization due to too many programs running; high disk I/O; or something else.

To check your CPU and memory utilization, run Task Manager. You can start Task Manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL and then clicking on the Task Manager Button. In Task manager, click on the Performance tab and check CPU Usage and PF Usage. PF Usage is an indicator of memory usage. If one or both of these is high, click on the Processes tab, and sort the columns by CPU or Memory to see what processes are consuming the resource. If you are not sure what the process "Image name" is for, Google the name and you should find what the process is for.

If you can log into Windows Vista, then you should follow these steps.
    1. Close and save any documents that you may have open.
    2. Click on the Start button to open your Start Menu. The Start button looks like this:
    3. When the Start Menu opens click on the All Programs menu option.
    4. Click once on the Accessories Start Menu group.
    5. Click once on the System Tools Start Menu group.
    6. Click once on the System Restore icon. After you click on the icon, if a User Account Control window opens you should click on the Continue button.
You will now be at the System Restore screen. From this screen you can specify the restore point that you would like to restore.
By default, Vista will already have selected the Recommended restore option. This restore point is one was made after a new program, driver, or update was installed. If you would like to use this restore point, you can click on the Next button to start the restore process. On the other hand, if there is a more recent restore point that you would like to restore you should select Choose a different restore point and press the Next button. This will bring you to a screen that contains a listing of all the available restore points that you can restore to.
You should select the restore point that you would like to restore and press the Next button to start the restore process. Vista will display a Window showing your selected restore point and asking you to confirm that this is the one you would like to restore.

If you would like to select a different restore point press the Back button. Otherwise you can press the Cancel button to exit System Restore or the Finish button to begin the restore process. If you selected Finish, Vista will display a second prompt asking you to confirm that you would like to continue the restore.
If you are sure you want to do the restore, and then press the Yes button. Vista will now log you off of the computer and start the System Restore process.
When the restore has been completed, you computer will be restarted and when Vista boots back up it will be restored to its previous state. When you log in to Vista for the first time after the restore, you will see a message showing that the restore was successful.

I cannot get off the screen that says Logging Off. When it runs out of battery, then I start up and for a second or 2 the windows screen comes on, then it's switches back to Logging off again. Is there an F# that I can push to get to the command screen???

If you can get access to another pc you can download Hirens Boot CD it's free, then burn it to a disk and boot from it. there is a password removal program on it and it's pretty easy to use.

Are you sure a keyboard key isn't stuck? Try checking whether the shift or capslock keys have become stuck, also consider the possibility that someone could have changed your password. If that doesn't help, you should try this software. Use another windows PC capable of burning CDs.

I CANT LOG IN AND IT ASKD ME TO TYPE IN A CODE THAT SHOWS UP SO IT WILL LET ME LOG IN AND IS STILL NOT WORKN IT KEEPS GIVING ME DIFFERENT CODES TO USE AS PASSWORDS I KEEP TYPING THEM AND WONT ALLOW ME TO...

I have to assume you mean logging into a web site of some kind.

The 'code' that you type in IS NOT THE PROBLEM. That is only to prove you are human and not a computer trying to access the site.

The Problem is the log in info you are using. The Log In NAME and PASSWORD need to be correct. The extra funny looking info [code] is not the log in info, just human proof.

You may need to follow a link for 'Forgotten Password' or 'Log in name' to help you log in.
Hope this helps.

I forgot my Birthday and can't log in Facebook

If you're stuck out of Facebook, and need to log in, you can reset your password by clicking on "Forgot your password?" located under your password input box. Once there, you can answer one of three questions to retrieve your password. So, if you have forgotten your birthday, there are other things that you're able to remember instead, like what your email is, or a name of another friend.
