Anonymous Posted on Sep 25, 2008

Missing normalize.dll i have win xp media 2005 edition i cant get explorer to startup, hence the lost nomalize.dll file.. wont work in safemode either my last option is to format from the bios, i dont want to loose everything on my comp.. dont have a recovery cd.. and my support has expired threw emachines.. have any suggestions frank [email protected]

see i cant use my desktop at all, when the comp starts up, the desktop is blank, i try and start explorer, to get it to start, and it says, will not start, due to normalize.dll is missing... so i cant download it, hence nothing to start or stop, or run. explorer is crucial... and i also tried the download on a cd, and booted the cd, so it would auto start. but you still need explorer to start autorun.. so it doest work.

    im clueless

    thanks for all trying!

Use a memory stick to back up all your programs you have installed and then format you computet.
or download or buy a new program for Explorer or get Firefox it is a much better and you can download it for free. Remember to create back up files on an old laptop or a memory stick just in case of any loses during formating the computer... The same is advisable is creating an new account.

    Also for got to mention...........

Once you have the file follow the steps below to register the file in windows.

If you are receiving errors about an ocx file, registering the file may solve the problem. To register an ocx file
simply follow the simple steps below.

1.Locate the file using windows explorer or My Computer. Alternatively search for the filename.

2.Hold down the shift key and right click on the file. Then click 'Open With...' from the menu.

3.An 'Open With' dialog box should appear. Click the button 'Other...'.

4.Navigate to your windows\system32 directory and select the file 'RegSvr32.exe'. Do a file search
for it if you have trouble locating the exact folder. On Windows 2000 it is typically located in c:\WINNT\System32.
Click Open to select the file. Then click OK on the 'Open With' dialog.

5.You should see a message indicating the file was successfully registered. If you see an error message,
try restarting your computer and going through the above process again.

I need msvcr71.dll i dont no wat it is?

...or try http://www.dll-files.com/ . If your dll does not exist, propose it. It should arrive in a few days.

If not you can find it on HUBs (peer-2-peer).

Copy it to your win/sys32 folder and it should be ok. :)

Missing shell32.dll file

Go to your bios and make the cd rom the first boot disk.
To get into the bios, usually del key when booting gets you in.
Once you boot from the xp disk, follow the prompts until you get to the screen to hit f8, on the next screen hit R and the system will do a repair with out changing any of your settings.
Be sure to go to Microsoft and run the XP updates.

I deleted a dll file for my omnipass

Try booting up into safemode.

Reboot your pc.
Keep pressing F8 before you see the windows logo.
If you did it right, you should come to a screen where you can select Safemode.

If that doesn't work call Fujitsu support and ask for a recovery disk.
