Installed new lamp. When powered up blue solid light and yellow blinking light (15x) , tv would torn off and on several times trying to light lamp. Once that failed red blinking light and yellow solid light appears. But picture will not torn on. Sound is on though. Tech support asked if after market lamp or OEM. It was after market, they told me to purchase OEM , I did and it does the same thing.

Hi Genaro,

Blue led light lit solid and yellow led light flashes is an initial attempt of the set to re-light the lamp.Red led flashes and yellow led light solid means that the lamp won't light up that's why it only has sound without the picture.
Since you've replaced the lamp twice and still the symptoms persist, I suspected that the fault came from the ballast board and not on the lamp itself. If the ballast board gone to malfunction, there's no high voltage will produce to light up the lamp and will sensed by the processor and trigger the error code (Flashes/solid led light with color code).

To verify whether the ballast board is faulty or not, check if the lamp will lit by looking through the lamp door louvers at the rear of the cabinet upon turning on the set.
Please let me know what you will find to assist you further.

Last thing to check is the voltage supply from the power supply board through connector P807, this is a 120V supply to the ballast board, this connector is located on top of the power cord's connector on the power supply board. If you're getting 120V then you have to replaced the ballast board. I've been searching online for this board but I can't find one, I would advice you to contact your nearest Toshiba Service center to obtain the board. I you have any question, email me at [email protected] because after 3 comments, the succeeding comments can't be open up here...

Hello, I'm having the exact same issue with my Toshiba and I would like to know if changing the ballast worked. I'm considering ordering the ballast but I want to be sure that I'm not buying a part for nothing.

How do i determine if my ballast board or capacitor is bad in my toshiba hd tv model no 57HM167?

The chances of the ballast failing are small on this model. Count how many times the Yellow light flashes before it pauses. Then google 57HM167 and the amount of blinks. ie " 57HM167 Yellow light flashes 3 times" That will tell you what you need to know. You can also post it here and we can help. I suspect you have a stuck fan(the fans are monitored to see if they are spinning. If not, they will not allow the TV to start up). Or you have the cover for the lamp not installed all the way. There is a switch that the lamp cover activates and the the TV will not turn on without it secured.

Toshiba 56hm66, lamp replaced but lights still blink

Check the circuit boards to see if any have failed. They are small cylindrical objects. If the tops of any of these are bulged instead of flat then they are bad and board will have to be replaced. Hope this helps.

I recently replaced a 915P026010 bulb for a MiTSUBISHI WD-62628 tv and it gives me a blinking yellow light in the lamp led indicating that the lamp housing is not installed properly. I have re-installled...

Make sure lamp cover is also fixed on tv cabinet after lamp installation.
If lamp cover has not been put on its place, tv wont turn On due to safety switch inside that place that gets press with lamp cover.
Thanks.

Cant find a ballast

The ballast is actually a switch mode power supply that powers the lamp. It is an
integral part of the light engine and is not replaceable. The light engine has a price
tag of $950. If you replaced the lamp with an after market one and not the Toshiba
lamp you can experience the same problem. Some of the after market lamps will
not fire at the same voltage as the Toshiba. The blue led will come on solid and the
yellow blinking. It will try to start 8 times then give up.
