Same here. I've had the monitor for just over a year now and just within the last week or two it will work fine but then within 10 or 15 seconds it will dim and go black. I am now using it on an HP laptop, instead of my desktop which i had been using it for the years time before i got the laptop.

The tecnitians told me about this prblem it is the video card or perhaps the volt inversor to 25 000 volts but the support of this monitor is very bad from the company Samsung because we can not buy the part to replace it, so dont't buy Samsung it is the worst brand that i Have used.

I have the same model that just died on me after one year. Very poor quality to last just outside of warranty and inexplicable die. The power switch isn't burned and the video board and power supply have no visible damage (burns, shorts, dirt) Unable to order replacement parts-no response from manufacturer.

Flat panel TV comes on by it's self

It sounds that the voltage output from its internal power regulator board is not proper. Check it.

Samsung 216bw does not turn on initially. It starts to, then goes black. If I turn it off and back on several times, it finally stays on.

Hello,

The problem you are having is an indication of a failing power supply. There are parts called capacitors that fail and cause the power supply to not start up correctly. When you keep pressing the start button the voltages coming out of the power supply will finally stabilize and the monitor will display a picture until you turn it off then you have to start all over again. The power board can be easily repaired by replacing the ad capacitors. You can get information about the parts needed here: http://www.ccl-la.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=138 The repair will require you doing a little soldering but its very easy.

I hope this helps, if so please please rate our solution.

The monitor startup and few seconds later it turn

You are going to have to open up the monitor, please read below if you are going to DIY.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Monitor shut down by electrical breaker being tripped. will not restart

Test the outlet with another device for power, like a lamp or vacuum.
If they work then at least the outlet still has power.

Try totally unplugging it. Then plug it back in while holding the power button down.
Sometimes monitors can reset by holding the power button down for about 15 sec. Something should indicate a sign of life.

Still not working! Might need a new power inverter board.

My Samsung 216BW is dead I think?

It seems it is the power suply, because some componets inside make that noise that you said.
Or It may be the power cord so be sure the 120 volts are passing some time it can be break in the base rear the monitor.
The probelm is that I don't now where you can get the parts taht you need for your monitor.
I hope it helps you.
