My electric range is a little over a yr. old and the bake, broil and self cleaning function do not work. The stove top works fine the digital display says the oven is preheating and beeps saying it is up to temp. but there is not heat. The elements were not the problem what else could it be? Anyone have any ideas? Please help!!

The elements never attempt to come on.

Burners work; oven control panel works, but the elements in the oven do not heat up on bake or broil.

    My model is: RF261PXST

Do the elements actually come on? Or do they stay off and never attempt to heat?

I'm afraid you may have a blown Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board. The EOC controls all the functions of the oven. The surface elements are controlled by individual infinite switches behind each control knob.. That's why the surface elements all work, but the oven does not. A replacement EOC can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your COMPLETE model number and you will find it under the "Control Panel Parts" heading as item number 12. There are several listed, based upon the color you need (White, Biscuit, and Black). This is a very simple repair that any do-it-yourselfer can accomplish if you wish to perform this on your own. All you have to do is UNPLUG the appliance and remove the back panel of the console to access.

Before assuming the EOC is defective, however, inspect the board to see if it has a fuse on it. I do not have a wiring diagram to confirm. Some of these boards do have fuses and that's all that it may take to repair it. However, if the board shows signs of burned components, replace it. NOTE: Check for any loose connectors to the board as well.

I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you have questions and/or require additional assistance.

The bake element (in over) will no longer get hot, should the element itself be replace or could it be something else? Range model RS675PXEQ0

It does sound like the bake element is probably the problem. Many ovens turn on the broil element with 120 volts to even out the heat in the oven or pulse the broil element. This may be why the oven is warm but not baking.

Whirlpool Self Cleaning Oven - Model RF360BXXW Serial # FA4005915 Turned oven on bake - bottom element is not heating however top element is. Tried to change setting to 'timed bake', 'broil' and 'clean'...

Your lower element may be burned out. Generally you can firmly grasp and pull it out. Take it to a repair shop and get a replacement unit. Then simply snap it back into the same outlet where you remove the first one. It sound as if you've tried everything else so it must be the unit that is bad.

Should still be under warranty! Call the dealer. Make sure you have the model # and serial # from the tag on the oven first. It is the ONLY way they can check warranty status. If not covered, it is probably the selector switch
