Is there anyway i can retreive the pictures from my sons vtech camera's internal memory. My daughter accidentally deleted them

If the pictures were on a memory card and you haven't done anything with the card since then, you have a good chance. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader connected to your computer and run the program.

I plugged the camera into my mac and used the disk utility on OSX to erase the internal memory of the camera. I am sure you could get / have a similar utility for windows.

The delete (garbage can) on all these cameras should be used sparingly it's been the cause of more problems then enough but it's there and people use it, The memory card should be formatted every time the pictures are downloaded to the computer. That way the memory card is clean and fresh for the next series of new pictures. Now the pain about getting the pictures from internal memory to the computer is another little annoyance. Each picture from the internal memory has to be loaded to the removable memory card one at a time then when all the pictures are on the removable memory card they can be downloaded to the computer and the internal memory cleared/deleted. Hello. Sadly you can not retreive the old pictures. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

The instructions say that you will lose your pictures stored on the internal memory when you remove the batteries. Use a SD card instead of the internal memory, or download the pics from the internal memory before changing the batteries.

Remember, if you're in the photo album if you accidentally hit the delete button with a picture on the LCD screen...it's outta there.

There are a lot of recovery software that you can use to recover deleted files - specially pictures. You can try to use Zero Assumption Recovery. You can download the software at this site:

Here are the steps that you need to do:
1.) After you install this software, connect your camera to your PC (do not insert the memory card). Turn on the camera, open the Zero Assumption Recovery software.

2.) Click Next. Select "Recover images from the digital camera.." and click Next again.

3.) Select the Physical Device - select your camera , click Next. [grab a cup of coffee since retrieving the files may take some time depending on the size of the memory (",) ]

4.) After retrieving the files - select all the files that can be recovered. Click Next.

5.) Select the button on the right side (close to Destination) and select where you want to save the files. Click "Start revovering files".

That's it.

It can retrieve all data from the camera memory and also from the memory card that you have there, if you want to make sure you can go to a photo center and they can retrieve all your deleted photos from the internal memory of the camera and also from your memory card...
