I have a Tosh Regza lcd just over a year old and have a dark almost like a tide mark at the bottom of the screen any suggestions?

looks like its damaged. Unfortunatelly all you can do is send it of to get it fixed or replaced.

I assume this is an LCD set. It probably uses fluorescent tubes to shine through the LCD panel from behind. Possibly you have a tube going bad, but it would be an unusual pattern. I fear the panel itself is failing.

Try pressing very gently on one of the circles with your fingertips. If this "improves" brightness and contrast, the panel is coming apart. This is not repairable except by replacement.

If you see no effect on brightness, or if the bottom area flickers or has a pinkish tint when you first turn on the set, it's a bad tube. This is a replaceable item, but requires a great deal of soldering expertise and considerable disassembly work.

You may have bad power supply or back light inverter baord problem, those are the two things the repairman will look first.

Diana, did you ever find a solution? My Toshiba (same model) is about 2 years old and it started getting these 4 horizontal lines spaced pretty far apart and a double image at bottom. When I lightly tap the top of the TV, they went away. But now that is not working. Please let me know. Thanks.

My 52 in regza has a vertical line on the right side as well just under 2 years old, out of warranty and to costly to repair, I paid $2500 as well. The TV has been on its stand since the day I bought it and has been moved once.
I have read of others who have this problem as well, just google toshiba regza red line, or vertical line
I Too will never buy Toshiba products and I will tell everyone I can about the **** LCD Toshiba

panel is cracked the cost of the repair is usually about 90 percent of the cost of the tv when purchased new. panel and labor. not worth if panel is cracked.

Sounds like the LCD back-lighting if off / disabled.
Suggest you vist Tosh website and download Vista display drivers.

Hi there.My 3yr old son water gun our 50" lcd tv sony bravia.I nearly have a heart attack.LOL.There were black mark at the bottom of the screen and when I touch it it's moving around.I realize that it was the water.So I didn't do anything.When we don't watch tv I turn it off from the wall.I kept doing this and after two weeks I notice that the black mark has gone.I don't why>So may be you could just leave as it is...good chance it may to away itself.I hope this helps.thanks.
