SOURCE: upload pictures to memory card

This model doesn't allow you to upload photos from a PC to your memory card whilst the camera is connected to the PC. You will need a memory card reader.

First do not panic! It is possible to recover your pictures if you take care. Take the card from the camera (powered off) and if it has a "write protect" tab then lock it now. Do not try and write anything to the card or you risk causing more problems.

You can either plug in you camera to the PC as it should appear as a “Removable Drive” or put the card in a card reader attached to your PC.

Next, if you are comfortable with using a PC then you can download a FREE utility that will recover your photos from the following link:

http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec

If you need something a little more "user friendly" then you will need to buy the software. If you search the web for photo recovery software you will find many.
One I have used successfully is RescuePro that used to be bundled with some Sandisk products. Now you can get it from the link below:

http://www.lc-tech.com/software/prwindetail.html

You can try the demo to see what you can recover before buying.

Remember - Do NOT try & write anything back to the card until you can recover your pictures to your PC safely!

Please take a moment to rate this solution & let us know if the information given was useful to you – Good Luck!

SOURCE: when i take a picture it wont save on the memory

THe memory card is either to large for the camera, or needs to be formatted. Put the memory card in a laptop or other card reader and inspect what is on it; save the contents and then reformat the card for the camera by running format.

Can't insert eos 30d cd in new macbook pro...need to find software so I can upload photos, but can't find anything...

You don't need any special software to use your camera.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Hi, We gave my mum a new tough 3000 Olympus camera and we are unable to download the photos from the camera onto her pc. We have plugged the cord into both the USB port and the camera but nothing...

Hi Fiona

When you connect the camera to your computer with a usb cable if you click on 'start' at the bottom left of your screen and the click 'my computer' .

The window that opens will show all the drives connected to you computer eg your hard drive (usually c: ) and your cd/dvd . If you open the other drives one will have all the pictures in .

Then just select them all by selecting 'edit' then 'select all' at the top left of the open window and then click 'edit' and 'cut '.

If you then open My documents and open the folder 'my pictures' ,then click 'edit' and then 'paste' at the top left of the window all your pictures will be copied to that folder.

Just to make it easier the camera will have come with a cd ,if you put that in the cd drive it will offer to install software ,if you accept and install it every time you plug the camera into the computer it will start the program and copy the pictures automatically.

Hope this helped

How do I transfer pictures from a computor that wont write to cd/dvd

If they are on a network, share the folder the pictures are in. The other computer can access the share and you can copy the pictures.

Another way is by using an external USB hard drive. Connect the drive and copy the pictures onto it. Then connect the drive to the other computer and copy them to it.

Or purchase a new DVD-RW drive and regain the ability to write CDs and DVDs.
