Ink levels lights flashing but ink is full - HP DeskJet F4280 All In One Printer InkJet

First press cancel for about 5 seconds - this way you reset the ink level error. What concerns the ink absorber error, I need to know your printer model exactly .

I had this same problem. Count the number of blinks in sequence of the error light. it will flash green and yellow, and then just straight yellow for a number of flashes, then it will flash green again and the same number of yellow flashes again. Here is the diagnostic guide.

Two flashes: Printer is out of paper. Paper does not feed

Three flashes: Paper jam

Four Flashes: The Print Head Lock Lever is not locked properly / Ink tank is not installed properly. / Ink may have run out

Five flashes: Print Head is not installed./ Print Head is defective

Eight flashes: Ink absorber is almost full

Nine flashes:No response from connected digital camera or video camcorder/Connected digital camera or video camcorder is not compatible with this printer./PictBridge compliant devices are attached to both Direct Print Port and Bluetooth Unit Connector

Eleven flashes: Automatic Print Head Alignment failed

Twelve Flashes: Low battery level

Fifteen Flashes: Ink tank cannot be recognized

Seventeen Flashes: Ink has run out

Eighteen Flashes: Printer detected ink out condition

Nineteen Flashes: A USB hub is connected

Mine had 10 Flashes and the Print Carriage, was bad. Cost almost as much as another printer so thats what I did. I did take it apart and got it unstuck, but still didn't work.

Try to press and hold the resume button (the triangle in a circle button) for about 5 seconds. In this way the ink level monitor is disable. Only if you put a new cartridge the ink level will be enabled.

Did you use proper ink?
Try to disable "check for ink level" in printer driver.
Then try to clean connector plate of cartridge and printer with alcohol.

The Lights can flash on an error and also iff the INK levels are down. You must check the ink levels and try to do a reset with printer software reinstalled.
Remvoe pinter from the PC, unistall and then reinstall to see if the printer shows the INK level exactly. If not replace INK cartridges to confirm.

I think the resetter you have downloaded is for resetting waste ink counter, not for ink level. For resetting ink level counter (that reach zero) use hardware resetter or use use chip with autoreset function. Ink level reach zero is ink out, after resetting ink level reach 100% (full). But it's just program, not actually.

Have you tried to unplug your printer and plug it back in?

Are you using compatible or OEM cartridges? The printer depends on a chip on original cartridges to set ink levels, most all compatible cartridges don't have the chip and the levels will not reset. If using compatible cartridges is the orange light flashing?
