Take off bottom, there are screws under each wheel and one in the hatch area. Inside take the switch out to the left and cut the red wires that lead to it and splice them together. The switch is defective, and is meant to turn the brush off when the handle is upright. From now on the bars will beat only with the switch up top.

It is only the wires going to the defective switch. Black to black and white to white. You are just bypassing that switch.

I had a black and red wire going to my switch. I basically took out the switch and put the black and red wires together. Now the bar spins when the vacuum is in the upright postion and not when it's lowered.

On mine, the white led's on the beater brush assembly would light but the brush would not spin when i lower the handle. I could move the beater brush with my fingers (unplug the vac. first) so it was not dead because of a tangle. Basically, the green micro switch located in the lower beater brush assembly can/will fail. I have done more research on this than I care to admit (Vac theory of operation as well as a troubleshooting guide) which you can find here:

Just a clarification on the voltage. I did not bother to put an o-scope on it to determine if it was AC or DC... DC showed me a voltage and that was all I cared about at that time.
@deschilz...you are brilliant!!!!!!! I was about to pay $80 to ship my navigator pro for my roller head to be replaced...then I read your trouble shooting tips!!! I took my beater assembly apart as instructed and checked the micro switch, it was not clicking when pushed. I messed with the positioning for a second and it righted itself!!! Now it was clicking! I reassembled the beater assembly and BINGO!!! Its working like a dream!! Thank you!

I have a Shark navigator with the same problem and it wasn't the micro switch. The problem was the main power switch which can be bridged out so as not to need a replacement part, unless you have a requirement of cleaning with no power head function. I am an appliance technician and using the interweb was anti productive in this instance.

Maybe not the same issue, but my roller brush would only work intermittently. I had to take apart the main housing and clean the two contacts (female side) that connect to the lower brush assembly. Now it works like new.
I have a Shark Navigator Swivel Pro model # NV6026 & the roller brush won't turn. I've cleaned all the hair & debris, checked hoses for blockage. So next I need to take cover off of roller brush. Is there a certain type of screwdriver I need to get the 3 screws off?
Did you figure it out? Those are not normal screws on the bottom. I’m having the same issue.

I recommend watching the entire video to see how to disassemble the Power Brush Assembly. Anyway, if that switch shown in the Video fails, it will prevent the beater bar (rotating brush) from working. It could be stuck on or off. Ours was stuck off and would not turn on. The switch did not spring back and click like shown in the video.
This happened on ours and a quick call to Shark Corp got a replacement Motorized Floor Brush Assembly on the way and a prepaid shipping label to send back the defective one.
They need your model number on the silver sticker and the date code on the power cord plug - code is on one of the blades that plugs into the wall. it is stamped into it. We are out the vacuum till the new part gets here, but I have to give them props for great customer service and an easy warranty claim process.
Yes pins between motorized brush and main unit were not making contact. I wrapped a small piece of painter's tape around the square plastic insert to firm up the friction connection. It works! So my neighbor threw this vacuum out. About 2 hours fidding around and I have a working $250 vac. Thank you my neighbor. P.S. I now have 5 working vacs that I picked up in my alley. Thank you alley gods.
I wrapped eletrical tape around both leads on the motor and the machine works like a charm. Thanks for the help.

There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance.
First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing.
While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is effecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

The 2 metal pins of the motorized brush are not in contact with the vacuum cleaner. or the Motorized brush is clogged up. You have mentioned that it is cleaned, but still give a thorough inspection. For the metal pins, firmly insert the motorized brush into the air-intake nozzle. This will connect the motorized nozzle to the unit power supply.

Usually when the brushes won't turn it is due to a bad turbine. Insert a screwdriver into the square hole that the pin on the brush fits into, and see if it turns. If it is seized up, the turbine assembly will need to be replaced.

how hard was it to put back on?
there are 3 wire on the right side of the lower part of you vacuum that break . This happens due to constantly flexing back and forth. run new wires and your machine will be like new . Good luck
