I have a troy bilt generator with a briggs and stratton 1650 series 342cc engine with a blown piston connecting rod. how do i separate the electric motor from the briggs to install the new rod? is there a special tool or puller?

there should be a set screw in the impeller holding it on the shaft.take the set screw out.then the impeller should come off.if it doesn't come off easily you need to heat the hub that the set screw was in.this expands the metal so that the impeller will come off..........there is no easy way to do this job........hope this helps,let me know..................
