Minolta Dimage S414 does not turn on, displays err message then shuts off? No error code, just err. Been in storage four years, probably stuck lens or something?

The S414 was designed to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it will fit into the slot, it will not work. You need to stay with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.
Unfortunately, I never see or have experiment wiht this problem. I want ask to you. Have you try to recharge the battery? What error message do you find? If you have still with the same problem, try to change CF or not use CF? If You use other CF than the camera have still same problem, i think you have trouble with your CF slot. And if this the problem, you can clean or brush your card slot. But if it's still not solve you problem, I don't know exactly what cause your problem.
Possibility one : lens unit faulty and proper focus is not being achieved camera goes into error mode because of this and then it switches off to prevent further damage.( replace /repair lens unit )
Possibility two: shutter faulty . Lens delivers proper focus but when you try to take picture goes into error mode because shutter not coming on line or malfanctions. ( replace shutter only ).
hey i know this has nothing to do with the topic, but can you help me with something? i accidently turned my toastmaster toaster oven on/off dial onto stay on. do you know how to get it off beacuse now it just wunt turn off. thanks
