Recently I bought a Brother 4-in-one MFC 7220 copier. I need to download the relevant software for this new piece of equipment to run from Windows 98 computer. Can you help?

Hi there,

1. Go to the following link on a pc that has internet connection:
http://www.brother.com/html/download/index.htm
2. Click on the "Printers/Fax Machines/DCPs/Multi Functions" link below the region closest to you.
3. On the next page, if your asked, Select your country and preferred Language.
4. In the "Search by Model" section enter your Model No "MFC-7220" without quotes and click search.
5. Click on the search result displaying your model no MFC-7220.
5. Click on "Downloads" (top option)
6. Select you Operating System (ex. Windows7) and Language from the lists. Click Search.
7. Click on the "Information & Download" link next to your preferred download. I suggest using the "Full Driver & Software Package" download since this will probably have all the bells and whistles for the Printer included in one easy download :)
8.Click the Download button at the bottom of the next page & then Accept the terms & conditions on the next page.
9. The Download should start once you accept the t&c's
10. Once downloaded, copy the Installation File that was downloaded onto a Flash Disk for easy access on the PC where you need to install the Printer :)

All files on my website are only there for a limited time.

The photosensitive drum needs to be cleaned or replaced. If after cleaning it the vertical line continues, the printer may need maintenance.

23/Feb/ 07: Updated the Brother original driver(Full Driver & Software Package) for the following products to fix a driver installation problem: FAX-2820, FAX-2920, DCP-7020, DCP-8060, DCP-8065DN, MFC-7220, MFC-7225N, MFC-7420 ,MFC-7820N, MFC-8460N, MFC-8660DN, MFC-8860DN, MFC-8870DW, MFC-9420C 

And here is the link of the updated full driver and software package. After you download this, you should be able to run the MFC 7820 with your new laptop=)

Note: the model is quite old, drivers for newer Windows versions may not be available.

Here instead is driver for Windows XP

there a various drivers from brother, download the full software and driver package, it is executable, the others are designed to be used when windows searchs for a driver and you tell it that you "have disc" and point to location of download files.
Before installing it is best to delete previous installs unplu usb, download full package then run it, plug in usb when system promps. use brothers web for driver download.
