Tascam cd-rw750 - while recording from another CD player (using digital coax connection), machine records for some time and then just "jumps out of record mode" and goes back to the beginning like nothing...

1. First problem: "like nothing is recorded". IS something recorded or has it been left in Pause Mode so long (instead of Recording) that it just got impatient and time out?

2. Get yourself a couple of CD-RW Digital Audio discs to play with until you're past this learning curve/problem scenario. That way you can always erase them and start over without having to discard the disc.

3. Dropouts on playback. Are they repeatable - always at the same place, even on different CD players? If so, the data is bad on the disc. If not, the data is probably marginal.

4. If you have a DVD player, try to play the failed recordings in it. Some DVD players can play back unfinalized CDR's. You may be able to recover the data by copying it back to the CD Recorder from the DVD player. Just be advised that an unfinalized CD-RW may not have 'silence' following the last recorded track due to old data remaining from a previous session, so be ready to pause or stop the recorder when the last track finishes.

5. "Scratches near the outside of the CD". Were these NOT present prior to entering the CD Recorder? Do they seem to coincide with about where the recording may have failed?

6. 20 vs 19 tracks: Is this a constant problem or only when there is a failure during CD creation? If the latter, it would make sense as the last track in isn't technically completed.

CD PLAYS BUT DVD WILL NOT PLAY IN MY LG DVD/RW

Hi, Sometimes these problem arises if any virus attacks your system, so first make your system virus free. And if its not the problem then your lense in the dvd drive is not working properly, its better to make repair it so that it works properly.

When you play a recorded show from a DVD player

As long as you leave the unit in standby mode and do not change the disc in the meantime, it should start from the last position.

If, however, you're smart enough to have bought DVD-RAM discs (they're ACE!), you can just hit Create Chapter on the remote control and skip directly to that chapter when you next view that disc.

Disc Error when I try to play a dvd LG DP781

Hi,

Sounds like either a dirty or weak laser/lens. Pls try cleaning with a CD disc cleaner or manually using cotton buds (if the eye is accessible).

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Whenever I play a dvd a second time, it starts from where it left off ast time, and I have to rewind the dvd manually each time? How can it always start at the beginning of the dvd, each time I go to view...

What you are describing is 'Last Scene Memory' function which is a feature of most DVD players. The player will not memorise the last scene if you switch of the player before playing the disc. This should Fixya!

Please remember to rate this solution.

Stopping partway through a CD.

This is not possible to change as it is the nature of all CD players, unlike DVD players which give you the stop/resume function. Cd players have a similar function called pause, but other than that its alm,ost impossible to fully stop and start off again from where you left off unless you skip to the track and hold the skip button to fast foward/rewind.

DVD Problem

Call Bose and they will send you an update CD to update the firmware of the CD/DVD player. I had a problem where a few of my new movies would not play at all. They sent me an update, no more issues. If you're a registered owner, they will send update CDs frequently, be sure you're registered as well.

CD player restarts cd from beginning each time

1) What year and model is it?
2) Probably not.

I have an Emerson from several years ago that I've taken all apart and put back together.  My guess is, unless it auto powers off when paused, or there's another button besides play/pause, stop, Back, forward, mode, prog, and antiskip, your problem is better-solved with an mp3 player. An ipod shuffle would do fine. The shuffle feature can be turned on or off, and one may jog without disturbing the electronics.

Various LG DVD Player

Some models of PIONEER cd players had radio frequency problems that caused them to work on and off. Are you near any radio or braodcast towers? Poorly shielded power supplies cause this as well. A weak laser diode in the pick-up assembly in model runs could be the problem. You might want to Google the model number and see if this is common for these units.
