My Philips 50PFP5332D 50 in makes this clicking sound when I try turning it on. The blue indicator light is on, but the tv won't turn on, it just continues to make this clicking sound for one hour or more before finally turning on? what is this problem?

My Philips 50PFP5332D 50 in also makes this clicking sound . I found five pregnant capacitors they are bulged out, two of them also leaked out. I dont know the values of them and from where to get them to replace with higher voltage

Its the capacitor inside the tv open it up and you should see atleast 1 capacitor which has bulged ( looks like glue coming out of it ) usually a 3000 ~ you can replace these yourself no problem for around 10p each but i do warn you there is a chance you could lose your built in freeview in doing so!

Philips model 50PFP5332D/37 will not power on blue light stays on

The real clue here is the unit will not turn off, this indicates the microprocessor in the set is locked up--may have got "confused".

The first and simple thing to do is disconnect power from the set AND A CABLE OR SAT BOX IF USED.

Leave with no power for several minutes and then power both set and the box if used back up--both the box and set will try to reboot.

I suggest this as have seen several boxes that cause a lockup of the set---fairly simple to do will not hurt.

Failing with that next would be looking at the set and its power supply---that would require taking the set apart and this one may have up to 50 screws to remove just to do that---a lot of these use those nasty torc screws.

Try the Unplug power on set, box, and receiver if used first.

Philips tv model number 50PFP5332D 37 wont power up

I have the model Philips 37PF7320A/37 won't turn on and MOST articles on the Internet say it's the Capacitors capictors capictors..I checked all of them. My tv just blinked red lights, had the clicking sound at first power on, but then goes black. No sound. No picture. Nothing. Just blinking red lights.

MINE WAS RESISTOR no. 3318 , a 100 OHM RESISTOR ON POWER SUPPLY BOARD.

I BOUGHT REPLACEMENT FOR .99 CENTS SOLDER IT, AND EVERYTHING WORKED!!!

THAT WAS ALL IT TOOK.

JUST A SUGGESTION..
1. CHECK FOR BULGING CAPACITORS (90 PERCENT OF THE PROBLEM)
2. THEN CHECK FOR RESISTORS WITH MULTIMETER ( FALLS INTO THE OTHER 10 PERCENT OF THE PROBLEM.)

TELL ME IF THAT [email protected]

I have a philips model 50pfp5332d 37 We turned it on and it just clicks (like it is turning off an on) no picture, nothing. Will not respond to the remote or to the on off switch. Had to unplug to stop...

The tv power supply board is the causes and the problems. That the board, where the power a/c cord plug into it.Try website like Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

My Philips flat screen tv model 50pfp5332d/37 I turned my tv on the blue light is on but nothing is on the screen it's making a clicking sound

It could be a power supply problem. In this model at least 2 capacitors, go bad in the power supply I think they're 1000uf/10V. If you look at the power supply board you will notice a bad cap with a blister on the top. The whole power board is from $100 - $200. I fixed a lot of these sometime the Y or sustain board goes bad. Visual inspection then measuring voltages..

Tv clicks blue light is on as if tv is on and no pitchure

Can you hear audio? It is possible that you may need to go to the philips website, download an update to a flash drive, plug the drive into the usb port on your tv then turn the tv on. it will load the update automatically... worth a try, it worked for me.

50PFP5332D Plasma tv. My tv sounds like its trying to turn on but the blue light flashes and a clicking noise keeps repeating and no picture.

I have the same problem with my TV. I haven't verified this yet, but someone I know who's a electronics genius told me that its the buttons on the TV (power, channel, volume, etc.) He said at the factory many of the "button boards" were tightened too much and cracked. When you turn the TV on, the clicking noise is a loose connection. He said it's easy to replace yourself, and about 30 bucks on ebay. No promises though.
