Have a problem with the unit powering up. Taking longer sometimes 20-30 minutes to display a picture. Seems like it is having a problem warming up, does this sound right?

On this unit the indicator light on the lower left hand corner of the unit is red when turned off, flashes green when coming on, and solid green when on. This goes through the normal progression, and the green light comes on but the screen still doesn't show anything for quite a while. Then the screen will flash showing a picture for a second and go black again. This will repeat several times before finally displaying a picture like normal. This whole process may take 10-30 minutes, less time the shorter amount of time its been turned off. Called the manf didn't give me much help said that the two main problems is the capacitor or the power board. How can I test to find out which one it is or if they are actually goood and its just a loose wire? Any schematics available?

SOURCE: works fine for 10-15 minutes, then screen goes

It can be caused by unstable DC in the power supply due to bad DC filter caps, that will be the first place to look. I have a feeling that it may be the main board.

On these older CRT monitors when you have that type of problem it indicated that the high voltage power supply is not putting out the right voltage to charge the picture tube. As the power supply gets weaker the time to show a picture will take longer and longer. It is not worth repairing the unit because parts will run much more than a replacement monitor.

When you first turn it on, the picture is scrambled. takes fifteen to twenty minutes to warm up and get a good picture. Once and awhile after the picture warms up it will blink like the picture is going...

It seems that your unit has some sort of Thermal fault, either in the main circuitry or the Power Supply Unit, PSU. In all probability it WILL get worse and fail completely.
You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done.

Olevia 37 lcdtv has to warm up be repowere for picture to display

It's your power supply. have it taken care of ASAP before damage happens on the board where it can't be repaired, just replaced, "if they can find one".

For some reason it started to take a longer time to warm up...

This model has several caps. on the power supply voltages such as the 5v, 9v and 12 v lines that begin to dry out and open and such problems begin to manifest themselves. Most likely this problem will continue to get worse and worse. As far as burned in images there is nothing that can be done short of replaceing all three picture tube and that is very expensive and this unit is to old to consider a 1000.00 repair.

Rear Speakers

Update:
Took apart the boards and resoldered the Blue Relays. Now it seems to be ok. It looks like due to bad solder, the relay trips when the board warms up. Taking apart was relatively easy, several pluggable connections and many screws to deal with. I took a digital picture before pulling apart, so as to remember the connections. Also, had to remove the smaller boards to get to the big board at the bottom. The challenge is to solder, must be extremely careful to not drop solder on the board.

Delay to see the picture

Your power supply is going south, I have an old sony with the same problem. The voltage level drops and does not have enough 'kick' to start. It will work better when it is warm. The module will need to be replaced.

Picture darker/less color/smaller until warm up

Hi there!
Have you checked for dust on the Tubes and mirror? This may cause a bad picture quality. Also power supply related problems like capacitors can cause a dark picture. Try replacing some of them in the power supply area and line stage. Also adjustments in the service mode, but for this you will need the service manual. Good Luck,JUS004
