Hi,
Just press the menu button at the bottom the screen bezel and then select brightness. You can decrease and increase the brightness by pressing the plus or minus button .
Hope this helps
Thanks

Have you tried all the buttons? Dell says that there is an adjustment for this.

Hi,
In case you have connected both the DVI and VGA cables to the back monitor can cause this problem. Try unplugging one of the cables and check if the problem gets resolved

I have this GREEN LINE vertically on my DELL LCD MONITOR E176FP 17

c5e83efa-55e9-4b06-8023-89ff1e5850bd.pngDoes it look anything like this? I'm no computer guy at all, but I had that issue with my Dell laptop and the line disappeared completely. How? After watching that bright green line getting Ionger and longer every day I stopped using my laptop for one whole week due to the holidays. After that first week I turned it on to check some random file and to my surprise, the line was a lot smaller and disperse. I had this 2 week long trip the following week so I decided leaving my laptop at home to see if the line kept getting smaller. When I got home from my trip I turned on my laptop hoping the line were actually reduced, and it was completely gone, completely and absolutely gone. I would recommend you to stop using your lptop for 3 weeks or so. Good luck

Monitor display on Dell E176FP

You may loose connections at the end of the VGA cable, or video card not seated tightly. I would check that first.

How do i adjust the stand so that the monitor is is not to low on the stand

Here's the manual for your monitor.
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/monitors/E176FP/En/index.htm

If you got it with the stand it usually comes with, I'm afraid the height is not adjustable. The screen can tilt toward you and away from you, but that's all.

Sorry I don't have better news!

well that could be because the screen is going bad. you might want to get another one or take it in to get it fixed, no more than 100 to fix your screen.

Problem with Dell E176FP monitor brighness

I do not like to mark this kind oif advice with "solution" but really, the monitor has developed an internal fault with the electronics and cannot be fixed by the average person, if at all.
If I had it, I would disassemble it and check the electrical commections around the back light, taking particular attention to the areas around the edges in case there has been any spill over the time, where something might have gotten in around the edge of the "glass".
But, it looks to me like you are going to be up for a new monitor. I hope I am wrong and you have some luck with it.
