110v 60hz juicer having series motor burned. want to rewind it for 220v 50hz. what turns ratio should i use?

  • Brainiac85 Mar 15, 2009

I have the same problem- a professional series KitchenAid. Although, I don't mind a large converter hanging around- but I am worried about the frequency issue. Is there anyway to deal with it- as I need a large mixer for my business.

  • Anonymous May 24, 2013

Get another one and hook the power cords together in series and always use two, or hook a 120V toaster in series with the mixer :)

  • Anonymous May 24, 2013

Get another 120V mixer or a 120V toaster and connect the power cords in series and you are set :)

Hi guys,

The only available Kitchen Aid stand mixers on the European markets are the Kitchen Aid Classic and the Kitchen Aid Artisan.

The best way is to contact a Kitchen Aid service center / repair facility in your area.
Here is the European website of Kitchen Aid: http://www.kitchenaid.eu/eu_EU/ka/ka_europe.htm

If you bought a different Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer (like the Professional series) you probably won't find the required parts to convert it to a European model. The only way would be to use a voltage converter.

I hope this helps.

  • Anonymous Nov 04, 2008

Another thing I like to mention:

The Kitchen Aid runs at 110V/60Hz, the European voltage is 230/50Hz. The voltage converter would be able to drop the output voltage from 230V to 110V but the frequency 50Hz will still be the same. The Kitchen Aid motor is designed for 60Hz. The lower frequency could eventually overheat and damage the motor.

It depends if the motor is or not asynchrone

Hey everyone... I just did a successful conversion from kitchenaid 120v to 220v. All you need are three items: the 220 V armature (spinning part of the motor), the 220V field (stationary part of the motor) and a new phase control board. This will only work with certain mixers listed in the links provided. I used goodmans to source the parts and the manual to change everything out! You can change the plug as well but I just used a standard us to uk adapter. As well, EU regs require an RFI filter... I figured I would just not include that part : ) http://www.kitchenaidparts.eu/documents/pdf/service-manual/classic-svc-manual-new-email-version.pdf KitchenAid mixer electronics electrical components at Goodman

Thanks for the help, tips and reply I wish you could just add pictures of the parts, may be a links to the parts one by one, there are only 3 as you mentioned. possibly a youtube tutorial. As the names are not exactly same, for example field part of the motor, there is no field motor with 220v , there is one with 240v and I am not sure if that is the correct part, if not I don't want to say bye to my brand new mixer.Seeing is believing.People may not find enough courage to do it without being sure about the right parts

110v KitchenAid artisan running twice the stir speed.

It's a 110 volt 1200 watt mixer and you are supplying it with 220 volts 500 watts of electricity through the inverter.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/110V-Stand-Mixer-1200W-6-Speed-Tilt-Head-Electric-Food-Mixer-Dough-Hook-Mixing-Beater-Whisk-Splash-Guard-4-2QT-Stainless-Steel-Bowl-Red/353191351

Now for the odd part, an 'inverter' takes a small number of volts usually 12 volts DC (direct current) and inverts it into 110 volts AC (alternating current) inverting the sine wave at 60 cycles per second..

If you have a 220 volts supply and want to power an appliance that is 110 volts, you need a TRANSFORMER not an inverter. You are taking 220 volts AC and transforming it into 110 volts AC. That transformer needs to be able to supply more watts than your appliance. In your case 1,500 to 2,000 watts output. Something like this. My advice, buy a new mixer, sell the old one back home.

I need a replacement motor on a KitchenAid Professional HD Stand Mixer (Model KG25H7XSL).

The loud pop was probably the soft start circuit board on the motor. You can buy this board at repair sites or Ebay. And yes, they make 220V versions of this mixer.

I've the 325 watts its 110V kitchen aid and I

You will need a 'step-down' transformer with a rating of at least 500 watts (~500 VA), a primary designed for 220 Volts and a secondary rated at 110-115 Volts. This type will have four terminals or leads and isolates the input from the output.
There is a non-isolating type called an 'autotransformer' which has one winding with a tap (total of three terminals) roughly in the middle. I use this type for certain devices but it is not as safe as the first-described type.
If you are living in a foreign country that uses the ~220 Volt standard, you can sometimes get one on 'semipermanent' loan from the local utility.

Kitchen aid stand mixer bought in US, moving to Europe, 220v 50hz

I can not respond to the warranty issues. My kitchen aid mixer is past warranty as well. I live in a country that uses 220V and my kitchen aid mixer is 110V. I have been using my kitchen aid mixer for almost 4 years with no problems at all.

The converter boxes are supposed to blow the fuse on the converter before it reaches your appliance and cause any problems.

If you purchase a 220V kitchen aid (although it would cost more money) it would probably have more power because of the higher voltage.

Hope this helps!

110V 6ohz - 220V 50hz

Kitchenaid mixers are not recommended on the use of a converter as they are not tested under such conditions. Understanding this, using a convertor on your mixer may automatically void the 1 year warranty regardless of age.

There are international Kitchenaid dealers available if you are requiring 110V. You may contacted Kitchenaid Customer Service for more information.

Their toll-free telephone number is 1-800-541-6390.
