Will my westinghouse tv work in the uk in conjuction with a bush hd freesat box?

  • Anonymous Oct 28, 2011

Thanks. Is it possible to change the frequency of this tv to work in te uk?

  • Anonymous Nov 22, 2011

Hello - me again! I've now bought a HDMI scaler box to convert the NTSC signal to UK pal. I still can't get anything - it still says 'no input signal'. Is there anything on the TV settings which could be stopping me receiving anything. I've set the input to HDMI 1 (and tried all the other ports 1-4) Do Westinghouse have a setting that needs changing over or switching on?
    Thanks

Thanks for your reply. Am i doing something wrong then? I plug the HDMI cable to TV and Bush HD freesat box and the sattelite cable to freesat box but it shows 'no signal detected' . I don't have a remote control for the TV but i didn't think this would make any difference. Is there anything else i should be doing?
    Thanks

  • Anonymous Oct 28, 2011

I forgot to add that the TV was bought in the US.

  • Chi Chu Oct 28, 2011

Sorry tvs that are bought in the US,Canada and Mexico are receiving in NTSC signals frequencies only for the tv incomming broadcasting tvs signals.Tvs that are bought in Asia,European Unions,Australia,Africa and the Middle East are receiving in PAL signals frequecies only for the tv incomming broadcasting tvs signals.Sorry not compatible Equipments.U should of bought a tv that are called A Regions Free Tv,this tv can be used all over the world continents.

  • Chi Chu Oct 28, 2011

No,sorry tvs are a very complicate electronic circuitries equipments and have many boards and components parts involved with many parts like transformers, transistors resistors and ICs are involed with many patented works of each of it own countries and programming softwares. That why the tvs industries compromise and develope a tv that call the Regions Free Tv.This is the only way, that why the Regions free Tv was developed for to be used it without lands borders.

Looking at the back of this Westinghouse tv it says '50/60 hertz. Does this mean that it will receive channels in Europe (50h) as well as the US (60h)?
    Thanks

  • Anonymous Nov 04, 2011

How can i be sure that the tv is in NTSC as there is nothing on the back stating this but it does show 50/60 hertz. What does this tell me?
    Thanks

  • Chi Chu Nov 05, 2011

Back of the tv.It have a label have the tv spec. and the tv regions it to be as NTSC or PAL regions tv to be used in.

  • Chi Chu Nov 23, 2011

No,ur tv HDMI inputs ports in the tv Tuner signal board might or must be all dead,if u still getting nothing. This happens alot when u tries too many times like plug in and take out trying of all of thoes HDMI ports hubs trying to getting any tv signal on the tv screen incomming signal, those HDMI inputs ports hubs are very sensitive to low static charges of electricity. One HDMI port hub is dead they all dead, all these HDMI ports hubs are link together as one path connections onto a circuit board. Dose the scaler box have AV cables connections cables connections like Yellow,Green,Red, White.Tries connections av cable connections to the tv and the scaler box.AV cable connections should do the same things for as a HD signal just more inputs AV cables.

  • Anonymous Nov 23, 2011

The scaler box doesn't have any other ports other than HDMI and audio. If i return the box and get one that uses AV cables could this work - just not in HD?

I HAVE BROKEN MY TV REMOTE FOR A BUSH HD READY DIGITAL PLASMA TELEVISION MODEL NUMBER PT42GY638EB

It will be very difficult to get a universal remote control for this set. You have to contact the authorized service center for Bush at your town, to buy a new original remote control.

How do i connect my samsung dvd recorder sh853m to my free sat box? Also is it possible to record a channel from free sat onto my samsung recorder while also watching a different free sat channel.

Hi,

If it's a Standard-Definition (SD) FreeSat box then a SCART cable would be the normal method of connection to your DVD recorder. This would connect to the SCART/EXT OUT socket on the back of the FreeSat box and the SCART/EXT IN on the DVD recorder. However, this depends on whether your FreeSat box has multiple SCART outputs and whether you are using a SCART cable to connect to the TV.

If there is no spare SCART output socket on the FreeSat box, then you need to use an alternative connection which is common to both devices, i.e. co-axial, and make sure you are connecting from an OUT socket on the FreeSat box to an IN socket on the DVD recorder.

If you have a FreeSat HD box, then you need to connect it to the DVD recorder using an HDMI cable or another cable type that will carry an HD signal.

You will only be able to record from a different Satellite channel if you have a Dual LNB with 2 feeds to the FreeSat box. The LNB is the receiver that attaches to the arm on the satellite dish. You can determine whether you have a Dual LNB as you will have 2 cables from the Dish to the FreeSat box. They may be joined as one cable, but there will be 2 F-plugs (threaded co-axial plug) on each end.

If you don't have 2 cables then you will only be able to record the same channel as you are watching. To record another channel, you need a FreeSat box that supports this feature and each channel needs also a separate feed from the dish.

Hope this helps. If you need any further assistance please post back with the brand model number of your FreeSat box and details of the connections you are using between the FreeSat box, the TV and the DVD recorder.

BElectric

Grundig GUFSDTR500HD FreeSat PVR Problem

Hi There, I've never had this problem with my Sky box, it knows which programs are repeats. I suspect its a problem with the GUFSDTR500HD. I have had two of these boxes from Costco, and both have both been as buggy as hell. They have recorded random programmes, they have missed recording programs, they often crash (black screen), series link seems to get it's knickers in a twist, and the up and down directional buttons fail to work after coming out of the guide or menu screen. To top it off, I found that the remote control also interferres with my B&Q fireplace... cycling through the colours when I change channel. Both of these boxes have gone back to Costco and I will never touch another Harvard Group (previously Alba, including Bush/Goodmans/Grundig) box again. Back to sky HD for me!

I am about to receive an LG32LF4700 Freesat/HD TV If I disconnect the SKY Box and connect the TV direct to the Dish cable will I receive Freesat HD channels. Also can I connect an extra bedroom TV into the...

Yes you can split the signal out from the back of the Freesat/HD (not the TV)to the second TV.
Look what outputs are on the Freesat box - the RF (standard cable) output should go to the 2nd TV (TV set to CH3) and the a/v cables,HDMI or DVI cable should go to the new TV - Note:To receive HD the output from the Freesat should be either HDMI,DVI or Composite output (RGB video jacks) with red White for audio. If you have HDMI this is best - it also provides audio.
