No Power to my Seagate FreeAgent Pro 500GB

Accidentally plugged the laptop power to my Seagate FreeAgent Pro 500GB and just found out that they have different voltage setting, now my Seagate no longer powers up. I've put all my very important files... what should I do? What is the best way to save my data?

How can I power up my seagate 7200.11 500gb external h/drive to my pc

If your OS supports this device ... plug in the power supply to proper voltage ... and connect the end to the device. Use a appropriate USB cable from the back of the Seagate and plug into an available USB connection on your computer.

Seagate Freeagent Dropped

Unfortunately what you are describing is a damaged platter inside the hard drive. You may be able to get a technician to recover some data but generally this means the drive is gone forever.
