How to turn our gas fireplace on

Gas fireplaces have a button that needs to be pressed to allow the pilot to ignite. One you have ignition, the thermostat adjustment should fire up the burner. Remember, prior to the steps mentioned, your Gas Service should be ON. Gas available and the ON/OFF knob at the source (gas line) turned to ON. You may need a lighter, like that used for a candle to fire up the PILOT.

Napoleon Fireplace propane Pilot won't light main burner even though gas flows in?

  • I'm going to assume your fireplace has a pilot light.
  • Follow the little holes in the burner that lead to the pilot light.
  • Make sure the pilot flame is pointing directly at the closest burner hole. (adjust if necessary).
  • Often, you will need to sprinkle a layer of "glowing embers" in this area. The embers will help the gas travel to the pilot light and ignite.
  • Always start your propane appliance on "High" never "Low". Cold propane likes to drop to the bottom of the firebox and accumulate until it reaches the pilot (this is called delayed ignition). Keeping it on "high" will help the fuel travel over to the pilot without buildup.

Ambient remote control 5884 won't turn fireplace on and off

  • Make sure your valve is in the "on" position and not "pilot".
  • Install fresh batteries in both remote and receiver (remotes are finicky about good batteries.
  • Ensure the switch on your receiver is in the "remote" position.
  • Follow manual to re-sync handheld to receiver if necessary.
  • A burner not lighting could also be the fault of the appliance (bad thermopile). Check this too, and replace if needed.
  • Replace remote if necessary: Universal Fireplace Remotes

The switch that turns on the heat in my twin star charmglow fireplace burned out, is there a replacement switch that you sell?

I'm sorry, but we don't sell any parts or appliances here on FixYa. We simply provide information on how troubleshoot and/or repair many things. With that said, I can tell you, from what you described, you need more than just and ON/OFF Switch, if in fact, it "burned out". Something else electrically is wrong with your electric fireplace-heater to cause that.

Unfortunately, you failed to mention the Model Number of your Charm Glow Fireplace, so I can't steer you, to where you may be able to find a replacement switch. If you can provide that information, I may be able to help you.

Flame has stopped flickering on our Century Heating electric fireplace, model HEF26. Fuses or motor?

Probably, neither. If there's no brightness at all, the bulbs are burned out and need to be replaced. If the brightness is there, but no flickering, then it's probably the motor or the shaft that the bulbs are on is stuck and can't rotate. Really not an uncommon problem with electric fireplaces, no matter who the manufacturer is. If you don't hear a humming noise when the flame function is turned ON. the motor may have overheated and shut down.

To test this, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the fireplace from the wall outlet. Wait 12 - 15 minutes. Plug the unit back in and Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Turn just the flame function ON. If it starts right up, the motor has cooled and the unit reset itself. If this continues to occur on a regular basis, contact the manufacturer's Technical Service Dept. If nothing happened after it was turned back ON, contact the manufacturer for replacement parts.

Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.
