Lighting problems started with R rear direction signal light stopped working. Changed socket assembly, BUT did not fix problem. R front blinker started running fast. Then L rear tail signal stopped working and front L signal started running faster. After a while Then Rear running lights stopped working. Then after a while the Rear brake lights stopped working. Than emergency lights quit working. ALL front lights work.

I have the same problem with my 99 suburban. The right rear blinker/brake like stopped working. the bulbs are OK. I'm thinking it is a ground problem. I have the generic GM wiring diagram from my Hayes book and I will try to track the problem down.

I'm having same problem.Rear right blinker went out.I replaced bulb.Went out again in a month.Replaced tail light circuit board and bulb. Turn signal went out again in a few months and again in another few months.I've just been replacing the bulb which seem to last several months at a time.Cheaper than spending money on someone to figure it out.I have no other electrical problems. If someone can tell me what I need to do to fix it i'd appreciate it

Possible answer:

Check wiring. Seems My Dog went on a destructive spree.
Under drivers side ,I laid on the ground and there is a well open area under chassis, near engine and front left wheel ( under driver Floorboard ). The wiring harness just inside chassis frame. I found the harness chewed, with brown wiring chewed completely in half. Other wires were mauled, but still intact reasonably. Good Luck on The Hunt.

2011 Kia Sorento passenger side brake lights not working

Light bulbs require power and ground in order to work. The ground circuit for the left rear combination lamp is shared between the turn lamp, stop lamp and tail lamp. Because the tail light still works in that specific combination lamp, we know that the shared/common ground for that assembly is OK. The power circuit for both stop lamps (left and right) have the same origin; voltage flows from the STOP LP FUSE (15A) through the DBC RELAY (when the stop lamp switch is pressed) and then to each stop lamp via their respective circuit branches. Because the right stop lamp works, we know that the shared/common fuse, relay and switch are all OK. I'd suspect an open in the left stop lamp power supply branch and would recommending checking for voltage on the green & black wire at the left rear combination lamp assembly to confirm. Regarding the left lamp on the hatch, the wiring diagram indicates these are not stop lamps rather tail lamps only. I'd recommend installing a tail lamp bulb instead of a brake light bulb into that assembly as a first step. All lights work for Ford Escape 2009 except taill lights. If it is not the fuse, then what is causing the tail lights to not work?

Your front park lamps and rear tail lamps, use the same fuse and park lamp relay. So if the front park lamps work it's not the fuse or relay. The problem should be the wire circuit. The wire color for voltage at rear tail lamps is violet with white tracer. Use a test light and check for voltage, lamps turned on.
Your stop and turn work ok, correct?

I have 03 Chevy tracker and tail light , dash light won't come on. I checked fuses. Is there any thing else I can check ?

Turn the parking lamps or headlamps on in order to illuminate the instrument panel and instrument panel cluster lamps. Voltage applies at all times through the TAIL fuse to the tail relay. Turning the turn signal/headlamp switch to the PARK or the HEAD position provides a ground path to the coil side of the relay to G202. The ground path energizes the coil of the relay. This closes the contacts in the relay. The closed contacts apply voltage to the IP dimmer illumination controller and all the illumination lamps. The illumination lamps are ground through the illumination controller. The controller is located on the left side of the instrument panel. Since the illumination controller is ground to G200, the lamps illuminate when voltage applies. The intensity of the instrument panel and the instrument panel cluster lamps is adjusted by the controller (4). The controller controls the intensity of the lamps by controlling the amount of current from the lamps to ground.Check the tail relay !

99 Silverado instrument lights & tail lights out

Did you check any fuses? Not only check fuse, check fuse circuit for voltage, use a test lite. If you jump load side of park lamp relay, do the lamps come on? The load side is terminal 30 and 87.

2000. Where is fuse for tail lights?

Do your headlamps work ?
Park/Marker/License/Tail Lamps
Voltage is applied to the turn/headlamp switch at all times. When the turn/headlamp switch is in the PARK or the HEAD position, voltage is applied to the following components:
?€¢
The park lamps

?€¢
The marker lamps

?€¢
The tail lamps

?€¢
The license lamp

The front marker lamps are grounded through the turn filament of the respective front park/turn lamp. The front marker lamps light as a result.
The automatic lamp control function turns on the park lamps and the headlamps. This action occurs when the ambient light sensor determines that the exterior lamps should be turned ON based on the amount of available light. When the BCM grounds the park lamp relay, voltage is supplied directly to the park lamps, bypassing the turn/headlamp switch assembly. When this action occurs, the following conditions exist:
?€¢
The automatic lamp control relay is grounded.

?€¢
The headlamps turn ON. Refer to Headlights/Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Circuit Description .

The lamps turn OFF when the BCM does not ground the park lamp relay or the automatic lamp control relay. This action is caused by the following conditions:
?€¢
The available light reaches a predetermined level.

?€¢
The ignition switch is turned to the OFF position

Tail light mounted of '89 Accord fails to work

Have not got a diagram, but-
Measure the voltage at the tail lamp :-
if no voltage is present, check the parklight feed circuit for blown fuse/faulty relay or other open circuit connection;
if +12v is present, check for missing earth connection at the lamp socket.
