These models have thermal fuses in them. You can hear them click when the fan isn't turning. Mine needed the fan axle to be greased up. Once I disassembled it and greased it up with some High-Temp grease it ran like new. No more clicking off.

SOURCE: the fireplace blower does not

This is a constant problem for ALL electric fireplaces with heaters. Either the Owners Manual fails to the manufacturer not telling you that the heating elements need routine cleaning, because they are sucking in household air to heat it and send it back out, So whatever is float in your household air (dust, lint & pet hair) near the floor goes into it, clogs it up and causes the heating element to overheat and fail. Or customers who have purchased these units don't read the Owners Manual.

These units, no matter who the manufacturer is were not designed to heat for long periods of time. In fact the heater element doesn't produce much more heat that a blow drier on high heat.

The heater and the blower and are in the lower compartment of the firebox. If you can access it, you can clean it with a shop vac and a brush attachment on the end of the hose. Be sure to unplug the fireplace from the wall outlet before attempting this. If cleaning it doesn't help, the blower motor will have to be replaced. You can order one from Dimplex USA.

I have a cheap electric fireplace bought in SuperCentre store-heater no longer works. It says its a one piece system. Can these heaters be replaced or repaired(probably made in China) or am i better off scrapping it and buying a new one?

Does my optimist electric fire need a fan for the smoke to work?

Do you mean Dimplex OptiMyst? All question need full 'make model (what it is)' please.
I moved the question from Cars and Trucks category.

This is very new technology and proprietary to Dimplex as this is a patented system. It is entirely likely that everything needs to be functioning. Contact Support and claim on the warranty. It can't be very old?

Sunbeam Indoor Fireplace FL23-R. I need the control for my Electric Fireplace please

Question edited for a lot more clarity.

Direct from Sunbeam seems to be the only way. Most units like this use standard parts shared by many makes, so you can take it into a local electrical wholesale shop or try an online shop like ElectroSpares.

We have a BF8000ST mod C electric insert fireplace. The fan is shutting off once the unit has run for a while. Right now, we are using the fireplace to heat our 5th wheel while we are in this transition...

If you have a Dimplex Fireplace Model # bf 8000st Mod C I can tell this. 1-Yes there is a EC (emergency cutoff) switch when this unit gets too hot. 2-There is a thermostat. These units are usually placed within a wall cavity. These cavities are closed and will build up heat very fast because - there is no vent for cool air intake. RESOLVE: Go to Home supply and buy one or two 2x12 inch register vents. Custom place this new vent(s) in the cavity wall where it may have excess to cooler air from the room.
I completed one vent yesterday and the fireplace runs continually now. I plan to add the second one for balance in the next couple of days. You will be as amazed as I was. IT WORKS NOW...

My heater motor stoped turning and blowing but the heat strip kept heating and melted the rotating fan . It is a 20406D7F 077 can I order a whole complete replacement unit

Yes, you probably can. Plus, Dimplex should be made aware of this. Contact Dimplex Technical Service 888-346-7539, Monday -Friday, 8a -4:30p ET. Have the model number, serial number and proof of purchase, handy when you call.

Hope this helps you get the parts you need.

Heater works but fan does not

if you have a tester, take off the panel to expose the fan. (turn off power) disconnect the wire leads and connect each of your test leads to the wire. Your meter will need to read ohms. if you have any resistance, then the fan should work. If you get a reading of zero or OL then the fan needs replaced. If the fan is good, then there is a switch that should close on a rise in temperature that may be bad. I am speculating that the sensor is close to your electric heating element.

Sunbeam electric fireplace

Most likely sounds like the thermal fuse has gone out. if you take off the top of the fireplace you will find a little metal tube in front of the blower. This is the thermal fuse if it has gone out only your fan will blow and the heating element will not put out heat. You can pick one of the fuses up at radio shack for 3 dollars. the only problem is how to go about repacing it since it was crimped in and you can't use a soldering iron because it will trip it. If I come up with a way to change it I will let you know so far I can't.
