SOURCE: battery power on mobility scooter
The Hand Control has probably bent in from use. ( Where she Pushes the throttle Control )
Grab a hold of it and bend it out towards you slightly
The part about the indicator going down when she moves and back up when she stops is normal
SOURCE: electric mobility scooter says charge is full but won't run
Hi. Most chargers should be connected to the scooter first before plugging into the wall socket. The charger senses the battery voltage to regulate itself. Your other answer suggested the circuit breaker, and this might be correct. Sone times the circuit breaker blowing can mean there is other faults such as a faulty motor. Many mobility scooters have plugs and sockets on the battery leads, and most are too light to carry the high currents. I have removed these from many machines and connected the leads straight to the batteries.
The third pin in the charger plug is to disable the controller in the scooter while the charger is connected.Good luck. Neil.

Hi Linda. Sometimes if there is a blown fuse or faulty connector on the battery leads, the charger thinks the batteries are charged as the voltage coming out of the charger rises to the high level. Some chargers will cut out if this happens. It is probably not the charger.
Make sure the batteries are plugged in correctly, sometimes during transport they will get knocked and become disconnected.
Also make sure that the battery terminals are not loose where the wires connect to the batteries.
Good luck. Neil.
SOURCE: With new charged batteries, scooter shuts down
Hi. I have had this fault on a few machines, but its not always the same problem.
When scooter motors have done a lot of work, they develope a build up of carbon dust from the brushes. This dust can cause a short or the commutator might be slightly out of round, causing the brushes to vibrate or bounce. The electronic controller is always monitoring the speed of the armature, and if this signal is interupted, the the controller can shut down the motor. Test the motor with a multi-meter on OHM's, from one of the brushes to the frame of the motor. If there is no circuit, then there is no build up of carbon. If there is a circuit, then you might need to overhaul the motor.
Also check the battery lead connectors, and the motor lead connectors. I have had to remove many of these for bad connections. Really bad connections will have burnt or melted the plastic housings.
Good luck. Neil.

In this model the blinking led signals that the control board - the board that transforms your commands in power outputs to the engines powering the wheels - is defective: a part in it has failed. To prevent damage to all the other components of the scooter all operations have been blocked - the chair is dead.
This is something that only a repair shop can fix - the scooter must be dismantled, the control board tested, the faulty part identified and replaced. You must take you scooter to an authorised shop, no way around that. To find one that is close to your location you must contact by phone the Pride company. Contact details can be found here
