I got this from a friend, she said it worked and then just stopped working. When I plug it in/turn it on the standby light comes on and that's it. will it just pick up any source if i plug in. after some recent investigating i figured she was just missing the media box, but she insists it wasn't included. I really hate to send this to the recycle center I trouble shooting list....? What source input is the default ?? Aloha
Perhaps this is what you need:
Pioneer PDP 4300 Service Manual
This covers many similar models:
Pioneer PDP 433CMX Quick Reference Parts Lists

SOURCE: PDP-436PG
maybe its not worth the effort. the media or turner box must corsponed with the model of the pioneer tv, in order to work.
SOURCE: Pioneer PDP-R06U media receiver
On this model, this is a "fault code". The unit has attempted to power up and the processor has determined a fault with it's "self check" diagnostic test it runs each time the unit is turned on. A technician will have to test the unit to determine the nature of the fault.

SOURCE: pioneer media receiver won t turn on
If the light on the media reciever doesn't come on then the power supply in that needs to be replaced by a service tech. If you disconnect the 2 cables from the media reciever and the panel and then try to turn on the panel it should light with red and green squares for a few seconds but will turn off as it needs the media reciever to be connected.
