I have the same issue. My TV is 5 months old... we were watching it the other night when it just went off...and now nothing but the yellow blinking light in sets of 3...PLEASE HELP

I am having the same issue. I have only had this Tv now for about 8mths.and now when I hit the power button on the remote the yellow light just blinks but the tv will not come on. Under normal circumstances the yellow light would blink a couple of times then it changes to green and the tv turns on. Now NOTHING!!!!! Please help.

Same here... TV is 13 months old.

It started doing it when the TV was 9-10 months old, so I changed the Power Settings so the TV was in Standby mode instead of turning completely off (no yellow light) and it solved the problem... until today! The TV won't turn on again and I'm out of warranty by about 40 days!!!

    Same problem, only with 32HL67U.

I have a Toshiba Model 42HL117 that suddenly lost power while watching a program. I tried the fixes in the owner's manual to no avail. The TV remains in power up mode (yellow lcd blinks three times). Ironically the unit is 21/2 weeks out of warranty and I understand that LCDs are expensive to repair.

We had the same problem with ours, maybe the company should receive all these posts. Just a thought...

  • reindhar7 Feb 28, 2009

Same problem, some repairman fix the electric meter reading and we have power outage a few seconds. Now my toshiba 32lv67u won't turn on and keep blinking those yellow lights.

Get sound but no picture ...

  • stoppy Mar 08, 2009

Same problem 1 month left on warranty so hopefully Toshiba has that covered. I wondering if there is a long term fix for this problem or if in another 6 - 9 months I'll have the same issue without the warranty to cover the repair.

Toshiba 42" LCD HDTV and screen went blank within 43 days! Yellow lights is the only part working. Did everything to troubleshoot. Called Toshiba Customer Service. Closest repair shop is over 50 miles away and said they won't come to where I live. The repairman said, "that is what you get for buying it on the internet". (Purchased through Newegg on the net)
Called CS again they said they would see if they could find a local repair but would not commit to a date. They also sounded as if they care less! I am going to call my credit card company tomorrow and see if I can do a chargeback on my VISA Gold card. I am so mad ... I need to get even with someone!!!

I have the Regza 37" and when I turned it on last night, it wouldn't power up. The standby light just kept blinking, 3 blinks at a time. Unplugged it over night and it came on this morning. The TV is just over 1 year old (23 days over warranty!!!), but thankfully I bought it at Costco, which extends the manufacturer's warranty to 2 years. I guess I'll plan on taking it back.

The problem is with the signal board. Basically, it is not allowing the power signal to go from the on button from the set or the remote to the TV. I am having the exact same problem with my 42" LCD Regza. Currently, if you are under warranty, Toshiba does not have these in stock. They will not have them available to send until early January. My TV has been at the repair shop since December 4th. I am very upset as I won't be able to watch the bowl games in HD. If your set is still under warranty then call Toshiba help line at 800-575-5469. You will need the model number of yout TV that is listed on the front of the owner's manual. They are:
27HL67
32HL67
32HL67U
37HL67
42HL67

The first number will be the giveaway as to which model you have. It is the size of your set. They will ask you to try a hard reset. (Hold pwer button down for 5 seconds until you see the yellow light go solid and go off.) This will most likely not work. If it does, you are lucky. I found that if you unplug the TV for an extened period of time, ie overnight, ity may come back on. It will eventually give out completely though. Better to get the problem addressed with the manufacturer. If you are not under warranty then I do not know what to tell you. Right now I am searching the internet to see if I can find this part to maybe purchase myself. Only if it is not too costly. If I find anything I will post here for all. If you have any questions, feel free to email me a [email protected] and I might be able to give you more details on your problem. Good Luck.

I found the signal board part at partstore.com.

My TV is the 42"HDLCD. It is model # 42HL67 and the part # is 75006083. It costs $155.72. I hope this helps.

wkjtx here again. I have receiveed a number of inquiries regarding my original post to this problem and relative solutions.

I later found out that the problem was not my signal board after the repair tech tried to fix it. (I WAS LUCKY TO BE UNDER WARRANTY STILL). The issue was with the SEINE BOARD.

Make sure to ask about this problem if you receive word from the repair tech that your signal board is faulty. I have no way of knowing if this problem can be addessed by yourself. I do know that once the part FINALLY came in, that I had my TV back in a day. Be prepared to wait on the part though. Toshiba is very slow to react and rectify problems.

You should be able to purchase the part online and possibly save your self a bit of money or time. Just do a bit of research.

I had the usual problem with a Toshiba 32HL67. Shortly after the warranty period ended, the TV would not turn on. The yellow light would blink three times ad infinitum until I unplugged the TV. After those incidents, the TV worked fine for about a year. Several weeks ago, the same problem started again.

Took the TV to a local repairman and discussed it with him. His thoughts were that it either involved the digital video board or the power supply. He suggested that I find the video board on the internet and let him install that. I located this part at discount-merchant.com for $49.95 plus shipping. Received it last week and had him install it. TV has worked fine since then. Got my fingers crossed.

The video board is Part V28A000320A1.

I thought it best to do an addendum to my post from 03/03/10.

With the new board installed, the TV comes on fine; however, when I did a scan to find over-the-air digital signals, it could not find any. This is not supposed to happen. This same TV with the old video board could find at least 10 transmitting digital channels.

After doing some further research, it appears that this model TV has two different video boards. The one I installed was a PEO249A model. There is also a PEO361 model. This is the model that was originally in my TV. The full part number on it is V28A00043601. This difference may or may not be the reason I cannot get digital signals over the air.

Anyone having the blinking yellow light problem should make certain which video board they have before ordering one. Both of these boards are available at internet stores for approximately the same price ($49.95 plus shipping at www.discount-merchant.com).

Given my experience, it appears that the two boards are not interchangeable. Of course, it would not matter if you are not trying to get over-the-air TV.

TV goes to blank screen standby after one second of normal functioning green power light on. When in standby state, the TV is blank like it's off and the red standby light blinks FOUR times.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Picture & sound go on & off every sec, red light blinks 5 times

helloFive blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.

TV is blank and status light is blinking yellow

I think you have a powersupply problem. This model has had alot of problems with bad electrolitic capasitors through out the entire chassi assy. Because of the way the manufacture designed this unit you may be better off getting a Mitsubishi Authorised service company to fix it. If you feel confedent,
check the powersuppy for 2 electrolitic capasitors that are bulging on the top. They will be your culpirts. I believe they will be 25v 2500uf. But don't hold me to it.
Hope this helps,

Blank screen, no sound

If ti blinks three times, then it may be an issue with the flyback transformer. It's called "three strikes"...it tries three times to come on, and after that enters a safety shutdown mode to protect the TV. Might need to have a professional shop take a look at it.
