HP Photosmart C6280 Scanner

I bought this scanner/printer/copier because I thought I could scan documents and save them as files on my computer. I don't have a manual, and I cannot figure out how to scan documents and save them on my computer. I am job hunting and need to scan and save my college transcripts, so that I can send them digitally to prospective employers. The files cannot be larger than 2 GB.

Question: How can I scan and save documents with the HP Photosmart C6280 scanner?

I have the same problem, but there is no "Scan to Computer" on my printer...only "Scan and Reprint" and "Scan to Memory Card". What do I do?

Scan to Computer is not one of the listed options. The only choices on the scan menu are Scan & Reprint or Scan to Memory Card. I need to scan and email documents but can't seem to get the ability to...

Did you install the HP software that came with the scanner? I believe it is called the "HP Solution Center". If so, you can open this program to scan. Once you scan the item, you will have the option of where to save the file.

Make sure the HP Photosmart's driver is successfully installed to your computer. Then click the Start button, All programs, Accessories. There should be a Scanner and Camera option. Just click for that one and follow the wizard to scan your document and save it to your computer.

Why does my printer keep saying it needs a twain?

TWAIN is a backgroung program on which the software for your scanner is based and needs it. Apparently your All-in-one installer didn't had it (or was corrupted somehow).Get it from here

How do I use the scan option on the C6280 to scan a document on my desktop. I can print to the printer but cannot figure out how to set it up to scan

First, make sure all of the drivers for your printer were downloaded from the CD that came with your printer and make sure your printer is connected to your computer and turned on..

Second, if you are using a Windows PC, Click on:
Start > All programs > Accessories > Paint

Third: When the Paint program opens, in the top toolbar click on, File > From Scanner or Camera > then select your printer by clicking on your printer's icon > then click, OK.

Fourth: Place the document you wish to scan on the glass of the scanner and click on: Scan.

The document will be scanned and automatically sent to the Paint program.

Fifth: Click, File > Save as > (name the document) and save it in your Pictures folder.

You can now close the Paint program and open your Pictures folder. Click on the document you scanned to view it.
