It may be the arm in the ice maker is down. Even though the ice maker does not have the water hooked up if the arm above the ice bin is down it will still cycle the ice maker try lifting up the arm it should stay up this signals the ice maker that the bin is full and should shut off the ice maker. run service test with volt meter hooked up to the two terminals on water valve if you get a 110 volts to water valve when it is called for and water valve dose not open then the valve is bad. make sure the water valve screen in the end of it is not stopped up.

Ge profile refrig - watrer dispenser does not deliver water. Ice maker works fine. What is wrong?

Water solenoid at the rear of the fridge has failed, there is two or three solenoids there, locate the one that does water feed to the door (not ice maker) and do a load test or just replace. Also make sure you dont have a filter safety cut-off, check filter cond and it is located perfectly in housing, check lines inside and outside fridge unit for obstructions. Good luck.

I have a side by side with ice/water dispenser on the freezer side of the door. a couple of months ago the ice maker stopped working and just today the water stopped coming out the dispenser and none of...

1light not work , may lightbuld loose in the socket , or door switch
2 ice maker not work? may the ice maker arm shut-off. sut-off arm to be on(sure be down position)
3 is the ice maker switch in the off positio ( on some models)
4 is the freezer door not closed completely ? if it will not shut all the way,push the door firmly shut for the water dispenser poblem
5 check water filter. or water valve clogged or bad? replace them if necessary

Water and ice work intermittently. Is it freezing up? what position should the wire device be in to work? up,or down? Is that an on/off switch? It has had water,and made ice,but now there is no water...

The ice maker arm should be down for the ice maker to operate. How was the water dispenser flow rate when it did work? You may have a restricted filter, a frozen water reservoir (located behind crispers in fridge) or possibly a bad valve (at the back of the fridge where water connects) . You should also check your shut-off where your water connects, saddle valve type connections are prone to restrictions- try closing and opening it a few times.

I have a side by side Whirlpool fridge and the ice maker is not working. If I have it turned on (lever down) and door is closed and water leaks out the front of the ice dispenser and it doesn't seem to...

How old is the fridge? Mine lieterally caught on fire at the start device last weekend. My fridge was manufactured in July 2001. Be careful, The fridge I have is model# ED5FHGXKQ00. I am currently requesting a recall be made by Whirlpool on this appliance.
Other than that it could just be that the ice maker line has frozen or the "arm" in the ice chest is stuck and can't raise itself to pump water directly into the ice trays. Either way be very careful. I hope this was helpful.

Frigidaire water stopped working...ice maker.dispenser fine

You probably have an obstruction in filter compartment. you should remove filter and inspect o rings etc. or anything that could have clogged it up. The only other thing that could be the cause is a bad water valve. Side by sides have a double water valve. one for water ,one for ice maker. You can check this by having someone flip ice maker arm down so it calls for water and feel water valve as it runs and possibly hear it too. Hope this helps.

Jenn Air fridge water dispensor stopped working

Hi: You press the switch and it makes a faint humming noise. That tells me the switch on the front panel is ok. The switch for the ice and water is actually on the bottom of the ref. The internal system of the ref is not under city water pressure. Ice is made so that's ok. There is a solenoid where the water attaches to the fridge down below which can fail. Just for giggles try tapping the switch with the plastic handle of a screwdriver. To loosen any scale that might have built up. As I'm unemployed also I'm giving you that trick. Otherwise I would just say replace it. I hope this helps, Jeff

No water flow

turn the freezer side to zero fridge side will zero also . click for water it should work . just worked for me no water for 1month replaced the filter and everything.

Your ice maker uses one side of water control valve and dispenser will use the other. Try filling the tray with tap water and allow to freeze. If the ice maker cycles and drops the ice into ice bin but does not refill with water points to the water control valve. On most refrigerators the dual water control valve is found on the back of refrigerator and near floor. Try that and tell

I could not find that model number in the US Maytag database. It really does not matter as long as you can find the parts. If number is correct then you must live outside the USA. Lell me what you get and if you have questions I will be here to answer any questions you may have, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Sea Breeze - you suggested solution was 'right-on'! Switched feed lines from the dual water line solenoid - ice maker filled instantly. Am ordering a new dual water line solenoid. Thanks to your expertise saved the expense of replacing the whole ice maker unit as was earlier suggested. You are a very competent 'Refrigeration Diagnostician'! ! !
