Dacor ECS230 Epicure Electric Double Oven

After running self clean for the top over, it stopped working. The bottom oven countinued to work fine but after running self clean on the bottom oven it stopped working too. It appears that just about every Dacor has this huge product defect. Dacor's solution, tough luck, it's out of warranty, get it serviced.

I am absolutely amazed how unresponsive Dacor has been in connection with this issue. This is a MAJOR PRODUCT DEFECT. I have reported them to BBB and State Attorney General's office in New Jersey and California. Apparently, we aren't alone.

I think this is a similar problem to the one pabinder reported.

We have Dacor double ovens. We "self cleaned" both of them. The top oven (oven 1) works OK. The bottom oven (oven 2) does not heat up. Here's what the bottom oven does:

    1. When I push "bake" a hear a relay click and the panel reads "bake". The display lettering is dimly illuminated compared to the display on the other well-functioning oven.

    2. I select the oven temperature

    3. A few seconds later the display switches to "pre-bake" and I hear a relay click.

    4. Within a half second I hear a second relay click. I hear the pre-bake fan running.

    5. The oven remains on "pre-bake", the fan runs, but the oven does not heat up. The display intensity is dim in comparison to the display for oven 1.

We self cleaned both ovens and now the bottom one does not heat up. Not a good thing when you are home for Thanksgiving.

You probably tripped a safety thermostat in the back of each oven. If you turn off the breaker and find a way to pull the units out you could probably remove the rear panel and reset the thermostat by pushing in a button on the back of the open thermo. Some thermo's aren't resettable though so you'd have to buy a replacement.

CAN'T GET MY DACOR OVEN LIGHTS TO WORK AFTER REPLACING BULBS

take the bulb back out and check to see if the prong that hits the bottom of the light bulb is making contact. If that don't work then its most likely going to be a short or a wire problem of some sort...Do all the basics first the work your way down...It should be to hard if your willing to go further if necessary...If not then its time to call the tech...Hope this helps you out..

Dacor ECS230 oven cannot set clock. Push clock button nada.

Any display at all? If not then hunt for one of these in the wiring connecting directly to the oven control. Then try to locate the fault such as bad fan etc.2295727.jpg

Oven is locked cancel/secure bottom is not working turning the electrical box does not work.. what do we do

Try pressing in on the door while trying to release it. The friction of the latch may be keeping the latch from opening.

My upper oven/ convection function on my dacor ecs230b will not heat

Bake and convection bake settings both use the bottom bake element to heat. It would be unusual for bake to work without conv. bake working. You also have pure convection which uses a different element surrounding the conv. fan on the back of the unit. If you press a feature and nothing happens it's the touch pad. If it comes on then turns back off it's probably the ERC (clock). If it comes on and wont heat only in pure conv. possibly an upper relay board or element problem.

Bottom oven of dacor double oven

I found the lower circuit breaker had been tripped. That didn't fix the problem but upon further inspection whoever had worked on the unit years ago had dropped a screwdriver that had lodged between the oven wall and the rear casing and shorted out the lower heating element. I removed the screwdriver and oven works fine now. I don't think that will solve the cmmclow problem but maybee the curcuit breaker is tripped.

My Dacor ECD230 stopped heating???

The high limit switch has tripped on this unit. Remove the vent panel behind the door and there will be a button in there behind the wires. Press this button with the circuit breaker turned off and that will rectify the problem. You still might need a servicer out to take a look at the unit though
