hi you may inserted a new sim card..that is new network provider..so that only your nokia 1616 will ask sim not valid. you need to unlock your old network provider by entering the restriction code . this restriction code is available at many restriction code providers like Classicunlocking .

try unlocking4u to get unlock code for your nokia 1616 and get it unlocked..

Nokia 1616 is a GSM mobile, I think you have inserted a CDMA sim which 1616 don't support, In such case the message 'sim not valid' shows.

You may :
- put the sim card on wrong orientation ( please check the chamfer edge of your SIM for your refference on SIM tray / slot in phone)

- have the SIM expired ( in this case you need to replace it with new or valid one)
