The dishwasher is heating up when door is shut without turning it on to run. Opened the door of a load several hours later and the steam that rose and the dishes when excruciatingly hot. Ran it again and same happened , it appears as even when the cycle is over the heating element continues to heat. We have now left the door open until this is solved.

SOURCE: Heating Element Won't Turn Off

Ok, this is a control fault that may be corrected by shutting the power off for 5 minutes. this will reset the chip set on the control board. plug the unit back into the socket after the 5 minute ait and check to see if the element is still on. If so, replace the control board.

SOURCE: dishes do not get clean and dishwasher is extremely noisey

Your not getting enough water into the unit, when filled the water should just touch the bottom of the heater. If it's not, take the water line loose and make sure it's not clogged, you can also remove the valve and try either cleaning it out or replacing it part number is 6-920534 sells for about $30 but make sure you have good pressure coming to the unit before replacing it.

SOURCE: dishwasher was washing I opened door to add dishes

Hi, Thank's for your reply. If I where in your position I too would certainly weigh the comparison of repairing versus replacing however, if you are capable this one is worth inspecting. I would start by checking the breaker ( insure there's power to the unit ) door switch, insure the latch is making contact with the switch plunger,(tiny pin that actuates the door micro-switch) the wiring, etc. The timer being the least likely, so we'll cross that bridge if & when necessary. If you are not comfortable with the "do it yourself" idea, again you'll have to decide if the unit is in otherwise good enough condition to justify calling in a pro. If so I'd also suggest an authorized Asko servicer as these aren't like most other dishwasher's and I personally have witnessed many mis-diagnosis due to ignorance or un-familiararity, I don't know. I don't want to see you get "took" for unnecessary repair cost's. Let me know if I can assist you further and I'll watch for your replay again, keep me posted. Good luck. Macmarkus :)

How to reset code to turn up the heat on a dishwasher model #WDT9105AYE

You can't turn the heat up, just on or off. Are you using heated dry?? It sounds like the vent system in the door is either not working or blocked. Some dishwashers have a small trap door flap in the dishwasher door that is closed during wash and opens to vent steam during the dry cycle. Sounds like it is staying closed. If you have a higher end dishwasher, they usually have a fan motor that come on during dry that gets rid of steam and moisture. Just a few things to check.

Dishwasher takes 3 hours to run through programme

3 hours isn't "extremely" long. If you run a normal cycle, it should run about 2-2:30 hours normally with the drying cycle. Now if it's over 3 hours, that would be a problem. Make sure that when you open the door that there is a lot of steam coming out, because that is the only thing that can extend the cycle is if the dishwasher isn't heating the water. Unfortunately this is a very common issue and it means that your control board inside the door has failed. There is a relay on the board that shorts out. This relay sends power to the heater, so when it fails the dishwasher doesn't wash well and it will run forever trying to heat the water which will never happen.

Opened door on cycle, will not continue cycle after closing door

The most common problem for a dishwasher to not restart after the door being closed is a failed door latch interlock switch. Adjusting / repairing it is not too difficult.

Of course this assumes that the Dishwasher power circuit from the circuit breaker remains powered up.

Post back here if you are looking for more details.

Good Luck!

Dryer heats but no condensing of steam

The cold water feeds for condenser cooling and for wash cycle drum fill are controlled by separate solenoid valves (manifolded together at the cold water inlet hose union). When the solenoid on my condenser coolant valve failed a couple of years back, I got symptoms like yours. A new pair of valves isn't expensive to buy and is a trivial job to fit. If this is what has been happening, suggest you also inspect the insides of your dryer fan and of the pump - neither of mine took really kindly to having been cooked for hours on end. Alastair.
