Cant connect to Navicom RT550 VHF radio - Navman TRACKER 5505 GPS Receiver

Based on the information you provided, it seems like the Kenwood TK-2000 radios you have may have been programmed with the wrong band split. Your VHF needs to be compatible with "seatalk" (Alot are not) Generally the VHF and GPS/plotter/fish finder are two separate units on a boat.

Got to love spell correct :) I am at a loss, why do you want to connect your fish finder to a VHf Marine radio? What are you trying to connect?

Whatever the device rt550 may be (and Google offers several suggestions), the use of the stand is probably covered in the manual. It is always possible that it can be used to support the equipment in some fashion.

the BF888 is NOT a vhf radio, it is a UHF radio so it will NOT program VHF frequencies

This is not a motorcycle problem but a Marine VHF radio problem!

There is no way to make that radio VHF capable, CB radio's operate in the AM band, and most, if not all VHF radio's operate in the FM band. CB radio's are not capable of VHF frequencies either, VHF is considered around 40MHz and above, CB radio's operate between 26.965 MHz and 27.405MHz that is considered 11 meter band HF. CB radio's are not broadbanded enough to cover anything that far away, expecially the newer radio's, as most of them are controlled via a microcontroller and PLL tuning circuit. the 19DXIV is a great little radio, but will never be able to operate in or even around VHF. sorry.

From your info the GND & shield (could be the same) are crossed. or one is open. A shield as in the antenna coax or an isolated ground as in an internal type coax in the interconnect cable of the wireless headset assembly. I suggest doing a 'BOARD WALK' routine, Move the wireless assy from one VHF unit to another, the problem follows-bad head set assy. If not, return to original VHF, problem returns bad internal connection in VHF unit. Please let me know the outcome.

The scan is on and you do not have a scan list programed.

Not sure what you want.....VHF band ius approximatly 130mhz to 175 mhz..... in that VHF band there is a commercial VHF band aprox. 155 mhz to 175...... the amateur radio vhf band is aprox. 135 to 150mhz.

 

With amateur radio, any freq in that range can be used...... with commercial radio the FCC cangive a company any freq. in that range also.

 

If you are looking for FRS/GMRS frequencies they are UHF freqs not VHF.

So I'm not sure exactly what you want......sounds like you might want to program in FRS freqs into an Icom amateur radio. If thats  the case you will need an Icom that will do UHF freqs.
