SOURCE: Camera does not turn on without charger base
I took mine to Radio Shack, because of that same problem. The guy there said that the battery card was not all of the way pushed in. Also, Radio Shack had sold me a 4G memory card to go with it and he, a different guy from Radio Shack, said that that was too much. It does work with my 1G card and he said it might work with a 2G. Who knows. With the battery pushed in correctly, it might work with the 4G.
I have no book, users guide. A girl a the store accidentally cut in half when she opened the package for me. No, she did not give me a new book! Yes, I asked.

Hi there. If you have cradle for camcorder, you can recharge battery from computer via USB cable. If you not have this, you can remove battery and recharge battery from omnipotence travel charger "Goodway", it find in shops for electronics. I can transfer pictures it device if necessary. Hi there, in first replace or check USB cable( it may be have short circuit or is torn off.) If you use OS Windows98 need install driver, if WindowsXP not install any driver, if you install driver in WindowsXP, removed it. For viewing pictures needed install Blaze Video Magic and/or Ulead Photo Express. Read owner's manual, page 40 4.2 Connecting to computer.
