Sears Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Wireless Keypad Model 976LM Security+ Logo
Anonymous Posted on Oct 14, 2011

My lift master wall mounted control is blinking The door functions properly with the wall mounted control pad, not the remote. I held the lock button down for 5 seconds and even unplugged the garage door opener for a few minutes, but control panel still blinks. Do I need to replace the control panel?

Locate the lock button on the wall control. Press and hold this for 3 seconds. The blinking of the light should stop and your remotes will once again work.

Lift master formula I will not close, only goes half way down, but fully opens. Worked fine until my wife closed the door on the car, after that it would fully close

I had this problem as well with the door opening just fine but was not closing when using the remotes or when breifly pressing the wall mounted control. The door would close only when using the wired wall mount control. I have experienced this problem with other garage door openers I've had in my previous homes and it was always caused by sensors at the bottom of the door tracks being either misaligned or the lenses were dirty. In this case, and it was just a moment ago today, I simply cleaned the sensor lenses and then the door began to function properly. Give it a try.

The door wont work with the remote. it will only work by using the pad that is mounted in the garage.

Make sure the small light in the wall control is not blinking. If so press and hold the lock button on the wall control for 3 seconds. This will stop the blinking and your remotes will work.

The hand held divice stopped working and the mounted pad light flashes quickly. The mounted pad does work.

The most likely problem here is that your wall control is bad. I would disconnect the 2 wires going to it and I think you will find your remote works. Replace the wall control.

Professional series, lift master 1/3 hp, the remotes will not operate door but door will operate from wall pad

Check to see if the small light in the wall pad is blinking. If so press and hold the button with the lock icon for 3 seconds.

If this isn't the case your receiver may have failed. The wall button works without the receiver;

I would remove the logic board and look for loose or missing traces on the printed circuit board.

Garage door wont work with remote

If the small light in your wall control is blinking it is in the lock mode. Press and hold for 3 seconds the button with the icon of a lock. This will toggle the lock function off.

My keypad works,my remote opener does not, even

It is related. One of the buttons on your wall control is the lock button and has a lock icon on it. Press and hold it for 3 seconds. The blinking should stop and your remote should now work.
