After making about 20 photos outdoors I attempted to make some family photos indoors and camera would not shoot. Thinking that the issue was low light I expected a flash to pop up automaticaly but it did not. If I remember correctly, then I tried to turn it off and right back on but I think camera froze. I took the battery out and put it right back in immediately but I still could not turn the camera back on. I tried another battery but camera still did not power on. I recharged battery but camera is still COMPLETLY DEAD. Top screen doesn't show anything. No matter what I do camera has no funcion or indication that has any power.
I pressed reset swich as recommended and camera is still with out any kind power. Camera did not get wet. I took memory card several times in and out and it did not work, camera is still dead.
On line I found a tread talking about very similar issue. If anybody can elaborate on this please do so. It seems this guy had a some sort blown fuse in the camera. Here is a treat content:
"Hi, I owned my D70s for almost 1.5 years and I have taken more than 2,500+ shots with no problem until today when I tried to change the lens during my daughter's Christmas program, the camera sudden got frozen, so I take the battery out and put it back in and my D70s became no response since then. I tried to do the factory reset by pressing the small reset button at the bottom of the body but nothing happen, am I doing the reset correctly?"
"An electronics repair shop in nairobi repaired it. they said it was a blown diode/fuse .. (not sure) in the power motherboard. It coasted me about $80 and its super since."
If after replacing the batteries with new ones or freshly charged ones your camera does not start up, high chances that something internal has failed - that needs some professional checks to be done. The cam is built to identify and report most issues that can be corrected by the user. so if it does not turn on, chances are you need support from a camera repair shop. (Alt : one step that you already tried could have helped is the factory reset - there should be one or two buttons on the cam that needs to be pressed together to reset the cam)

I have the same problem. Camera read err a couple times, flash wouldn't do anything but a low 'click' sound and no shutter then it died. Totally. I did all the same things. Tried to reset it, tried taking the memory card out, took the lens off and on, recharged the batteries... nothing. HELP!!!
