Need model #. It really depends on how machine is designed as to what problems may be.

Slide the unit out from the wall and open the small access panel on the back, bottom left side. 98% of the noise problems from this model is do to the bad design on the drain pump which has since been redesigned and will need to be replaced. Here is the new pump.
This washer pump has been redesigned by the manufacture. The mounting plate is no longer required. It now mounts directly to the base of the washer.

Typically there is a metal mounting plate screwed to the wall and when you take the screws out of the cabinet above it it will tilt forward toward you and then you have to lift it off of some metal tabs that are on the bottom of that mounting plate. Lift up and pull away from the wall and let the cord pull out of the hole in the bottom of the cabinet. Good luck. I usually do that by myself and hook one arm under it and lift it up, but probably better with two people.

Hello, If its making a loud squeeking/scraping noise, in my maytag that i repaired, the problem was the waterpump. If you turn the washer on it's side, you will see that it has a belt with three pully's on the bottom. One pulley is connected to the waterpump and right where the pulley meets the metal plate it's connected to, there should be a gold coupling. This coupling sometimes comes loose and scrapes the metal plate on spin cycle (when the pulley is spinning) which causes the scraping/squeeking sound. If this is the case, you will see where the coupling has scraped a groove into the metal plate. The coupling will eventually catch while spinning and break entirely. The cheapest new water pump is $80.

hi thanks for the question pull the washer away from the wall you will see a small plate at the back remove this plate pump is there in corner held in there with 3 3/8 bolts remove hoses and remove pump you will get some water drain washer first by gravity please accept and positive feed back is nice thanks the appliance doc

As far as I know, the series 10 should work, but remember, if im not mistaken the series 10 had some issues with the lower race coming loose and causing a serious noise issue. I do believe they fixed that on the 22. Are you buying on-line or through a local dealer? If local dealer, take your old pump with you. If ordering on-line, ask the seller or on-line rep this question as well (even though they will sell you the most expensive one). Like I said, I have swapped them before without problem. Jim
