Can't insall the lexmark to my computer to print from computer

It could be the print setting on the application where you're printing from. Before you send your print job and hit "Print" button on your computer, check in the Printing Preferences and make sure it is not set to print "Using black ink only.".

Just make sure you are inserting genuine Lexmark cartridges. Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled, remanufactured or clone cartridges, you might not get the print quality you expect from ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark.

Try cleaning the cartridge nozzles using the Lexmark software installed on your computer instead:
1. On your computer, go to Start menu.2. Go to Programs.3. Go to Lexmark 2600 Series folder.4. Select Lexmark Solution Center.5. From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean it from dirt and possible clogs.
If that doesn't help but you're using genuine Lexmark supplies, please contact Lexmark Technical Support for additional assistance, otherwise, please replace your color cartridge with a genuine one.

Open Control Panel >> Printer and Faxes >> and in the left task-bar you'll be noticed "Add Printer".click there and "Next" and connect the printer to pc with stand by mode.Good luck

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Try downloading the driver from the Lexmark website. Make sure you get the compatible driver for the operating system version you are running.

Uninstall the software and reinstall it.Most printers must be disconnected from the CPU during insallation of the firmware

First remove the driver from the device manager, Start --> Type in --> devmgmt.msc 
It will open window where you can locate printer driver, remove them and then insall the new one.

Go to the adress below, select your operating system and download the driver, when it asks you where to save it too chose your desktop so it will be easy to find. then insall the driver, and start printing.

once you insert your lexmark disc, go to my computer then right click the dvd drive then click auto play or explore, other wise if you have windows xp it not nesserary to insall the cd.
