Hello,

There is a couple things can cause this to happen.

Number one make sure you have nothing else added recently on that circuit, where you have had your machine plugged in. If something was added on that circuit, something that is always running like a fridge, that could be overloading the circuit, sense coffee machines use a huge amount of power at start up. If your sure nothing of that sort has changed then next is:

Number two, make sure you have cleaned the machine, you know descaling and making sure there is no restrictions. If this is good, then next is:

Number three, it appears you can have a short. The heating element going bad in the coffee maker. If the thermostat or heating element is pulling more power boost then normal because its going bad or a short this will trip the breaker. What I would first do, is run yourself a extension cord from another outlet that for sure is not on same breaker. If that breaker blows, then you know for sure it is the machine that is causing this, then we are back to the heating element or thermostat on off regulator.

What i have done is located the manual on your machine, that besides gives you a lot of information, it also gives you trouble shooting tips and schematics of the parts and wiring diagram for you machine. Here is the link to copy and paste in your browser to download the manual.

Must have been the tank heater going out. Now it is no longer tripping the breaker but the element is not heating any longer and will not brew coffee. Thanks Mc1bean for your advice.

Yes , it appears that it was tripping as it was warning you it was going out. And sense now does not work at all, seems to be true. Please look in the manual I sent you, it shows those parts in detail from the trouble shooting section and even has wire schematics of how to replace those parts that went out, and where they are. HOWEVER as a Warning, it says all through the manual concerning those parts, that they recommend a professional when it comes to replacing those parts. That is up to you if you want to tackle this project yourself. NOW as a another option if you don't every town and state sense the coffee business is so huge, most likely in your area, if you look up major bean suppliers, like long bottom, k&f, Bridge Town, etc.,, most of them have a service shop to repair machines such as yours. Also I am pretty sure that Bunn, can refer you to a dealer that repairs in your area. To bad you were not in my local, area I could fix it for you in about 45 minutes or less. But good news is you have the manual, and at least know what is going on, and maybe get lucky and it will just be a short on the switch that controls the heating element. Look at manual, and maybe you can fiddle with it there first before you replace the whole element. But, please be careful to not cause more damage, and make sure machine is unplugged when ever your working on it. Mike

Thanks. I have already taken the top off the tank and the element was in pieces. I ordered the part and when I get it replaced I will let you know how it does. Thanks again!

We have a Bunn VPS 3 and we need to know how much water we should keep in it ?

You should keep the unit full of water all the time it's plugged in, as if it is low on water, the heating element will burn out. A Bunn VPS brewer holds about 2 -64 oz pots of water in it's resevoir.
