The Logitech Harmony 700 (IR) works great for my Kenwood VR-510 plus my other video components. Got from E-Bay for $144 with 3 yr warranty, around June 2013.

What is the remote control code for kenwood vr-510

For which remote exactly? Each manufacturer of programmable/ learning remotes has their own code base and unique numbers for each code.

Asking for a device code without stating the make and model of the remote is pretty pointless. It is like asking for the postcode/zip code of Acacia Avenue but without specifying the city and district.

Need the 4 digit code for a kenwood vr-405 reciever with my kenwood rc-ro509 remote..stop working?

Hi,
Here are some remote codes for Kenwood Receivers.
The codes are as follows: One of them should work
0027, 0077, 0313, 0186, 0314, 0356

Here is a link to a web site that has universal codes for remotes.

I have a kenwood vr 406 and a kenwood rcr0609 remote. After some time, the remote stopped working , so we got a new remote. This worked about a day. The remote itself seems to be working, because I can...

Kenwood receivers recently have a commonly known problem with its receiving IR diode within the receiver, to fix this you will have to re-solder the connection on the receiver panel within the faceplate of your kenwood receiver.

Instructions to fix it are at the following link if you are willing to open up your receiver and repair it. lots of people have reported this fix as successful so it is widely believed to be a design flaw in the VR line-up of receivers as it has occured in all the VR families so far.

good luck.

IR Reliability--Intermittent

The Kenwood VR-510 does indeed respond to IR remotes. I now use a Logitech Harmony H659 which is IR only.
Your issue is a problem with the VR-510, actualy the whole series had a problem with cold solder joints on an assembly behind the front panel. Fix that and fix the problem. It frustrated me for 5 yrs.
Go here for the fix:
This site has the fix well documented: http://resnet.uoregon.edu/~gurney_j/kenwoodrepair/.
All is working great now!
